Grammatically speaking, I think Butaj may already be a pronoun. I don't see Butaj commonly using any other sort of personal pronoun to refer to Butaj, after all.

As a pet name, 凶手 kyoushu "assassin" sounds a bit more sleek and less like something out of a legal document to me. But my ear for Japanese is almost entirely actually an ear for Chinese + basic ability to make out onyomi, so... probably don't listen to me.

If we go by real life languages the words you wan are 'satsujin' and 'murderer'. The -jin at the end implies person. Literally murder-person or... murderer.

殺人 (satsujin) does apparently translate to "murder" according to my dictionary of choice, though.. at least it's the Japanese wikipedia article that corresponds with the English article for "homicide". So person-kill?

He is Satsujin because someone coined the phrase "murder-weasel" and Satsujin was the first translation I found.
