Oh Kami, what has this Moto gotten me into.. Akil's hand reached and touched the back of his head, rubbing it with a nervous expression. "Oh, Yuzuki-san, I was just telling Moto-san here that you seem nice is all." I miss Setem right now...

[Yuzuki]

"Oh. Thanks. You seem nice too?"

She placed a finger on her chin, look up at the sky for a moment, then back down to the two Unicorn.

"Hey, I understand we're having dinner tonight. I believe there's food from Rokugan and elsewhere? I've actually brought a large amount of food with me myself. I was thinking of making a feast for our hosts at some point. You wouldn't happen to know if the Unicorn will be providing dinner for tomorrow and the days after, would you? It'd be... awkward to have two feasts at once."

"Oh, well, I mean," he considered, looking up for a moment. "I don't... think we have another grand feast planned soon? Obviously there will be food available, but I don't know that we have another formal feast til closer to the Miai's end."

[Moto Khulun]

“What kind of food?” she said more interested in that than if there was a feast.

[Yuzuki]

She seemed relieved. Spending that much koku on the ingredients would have been a bit of a waste otherwise.

"Well, that's good. As for the food, I intend to make a variety of Rokugani foods for people to sample. I'd hoped to make some sushi as well, which is a favorite of the Mantis, but given the lack of fresh fish that would not really be ideal I suppose."

[Moto Khulun]

“The sushi… the rice and fish, yes? I heard stories but have not seen it done. What fish you use for the sushi? What other foods you make? I try the sweet bean treats, much good there,” she replies.

[Yuzuki]

"There's a lot of different kinds of sushi. Not all of them use fish, though those are the most popular. Tuna. Salmon. Eel. Carp. Shrimp. Squid. Lots of variety. Fugu is a particular specialty of the Mantis, but only the most skilled chefs are allowed to make that."

"What is fugu?" she asks.

[Yuzuki]

"A fish that is deadly poisonous. If it isn't prepared properly, eating it will kill you, so only the best chefs can make it. It's really good though."

"You have fugu?" she asks.

"No. It wouldn't keep fresh this far from the ocean, and I'm not skilled enough to prepare it properly."

It would *definitely* be a faux-pas to poison half the miai.

“To eat some thing that can kill you after death would make me strong indeed. I had a cousin who used to eat vipers, the old ones claim if you eat a strong thing you become stronger,” she says with a smile.

“Cousin dead now, kicked by horse. Blood was strong, skull not so much.”

“I have question, I have seen rivers and lakes and water look much deep is the sea deeper? Does it go to the center of the world?”

[Yuzuki]

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said when it turned out the cousin was dead. Although, she wasn't sure if that wasn't supposed to be a joke instead.

Then came a question she'd asked herself in the past. "I don't know actually. They are much deeper than lakes and rivers, but nobody knows how far down it goes. Big things live down there though. Large monsters and creatures. You can dive down to the bottom when you're near land, but once you're out at sea, you can't see the bottom. It's just too dark down there."

“What kind of big things? Giant sea snakes like in the stories? There are things in the black deserts, big mysterious monsters I am told. The Shadow… that held many dangers too,” she says in a more serious tone.

“Have you seen the big things in the sea?”

[Yuzuki]

"I saw an Orochi once, they're giant sea serpents. Hey, what do you mean by shadow?"
