5) Your top three choices for clan assignment. This should include a basic character concept (just a sentence or two) that you'd like to play. Note that members of the minor clans, Brotherhood monks, and ronin will be asked to associate with a Great Clan. Imperials, Nezumi, and Naga will not be allowed for Shadows Over Naishou.

Yotsu (IH 275) (must take Social Disadvantage, which will not count against maximum disadvantage points; members of a ronin family must take Social Advantage: Ronin Family, see below)

It has 'see below' but has nothing below it - is something missing here? I also assume the social disadvantage has to be taken regardless of the Ronin family as per the rules for Ronin, or is it different for Kaeru and Tsi?

I’ll be tossing this announcement up in a few places. Sorry if you’re getting it multiple times.

A few random conversations at con the other weekend started brewing the idea for an online, play-by-post convention. Here’s the results of my unconscious chewing on that idea for a few days!

So, I’m announcing plans for Pop Up Con (hat tip to Michael Brost for name ideas).

When: October (exact dates TBD)
Where: URL to come
What: Two weeks of forum roleplay. Multiple games with various GMs organized into sections on the forum. Each game should run in that two week window, but can certainly be shorter.

Scope of games should be more along the lines of what you would do for a tabletop one shot, rather than the longer story arcs of the usual forum game. GMs may restrict player numbers to accommodate scope. (For those familiar with the Hollow Throne games, the Hunt for Shiori would fit the scope I’m imagining).

Game System: L5R (whichever edition a GM wants to run, but 4th is awfully popular)

Theme: Bon Festival

Alternative settings welcome, but please ask permission from the creators of settings like Hollow Throne or the Emerald Stars Bannerverse, etc.

Looking for GMs to run games. Unlike a meatspace con, I can’t offer free admission or hotel space. But a thank you package of cookies might find its way to you at the holidays. Message me through whatever mode of communication we share if you’re interested in running something.
