"The Character with the Highest result of this roll is considered to be in control of the Grapple until the next character's turn." It sounds to me like no one is considered in control at the start of a round. Butaj or Nintoku.
But then I feel I should also point out that Acting is not a contested roll.
It was tn 15 to see Khulun as Silvia. :p
Since we are discussing rules and all.

EDIT: Saksaha's could work. But I would be against it as a) Way too much rolling. and b) It puts the attacking brawler at a disadvantage as they would have to succeed twice to do anything where as the defender only needs to succeed once.

I noticed that too, but the Silvia thing had happened and passed before I'd even woken up.
Yeah, that line is confusing, and supports Saksaha's idea, but I still think mine works better as it involves less rolling (always a blessing in PbP) and doesn't make me wonder why anyone would ever want to initiate a grapple as they would need to win twice in order to do anything with it.

Somehow we ended up with a set of grapple rules that are kinda meh for dedicated wrestlers/wrestling matches, but great for ganking single targets in boss fights.
When it's four of you versus one large (just not Huge) enemy with SAA, that's when you want to use grappling.
