She crosses her arms over her chest, petulant as a child, "I fear the repercussions if it is found that I knew of this and told no one."

"I'm sorry my love, but I wanted you to understand the system" Hideo sighed, looking at the ground.

She unfolds her arms and touches his hand. "If it were only me, I would have no cause to hesitate. But if she sees fit to challenge me, I must consider how the outcome would affect you."

"You do not wear a katana normally, so another would stand for you...when you are of the Imperial Families, Miya-san can stand for you" Hideo sighed, taking her hands in his "I know this must make for uncomfortable hearing...but it is the way of the Empire until someone changes it."

I fear no duels, nor death. No disgrace or dishonour would break me, if I was acting for the right of the Clan. No, no the only thing I fear would be to lose you, she muses. Instead she mumbles, "always have I been a poor student."

"You are not a poor student" Hideo shook his head "you are learning about a system that at its core,
is abused and corrupted. But that is the way of the world, ne? Can it be changed?"

[Ide Amaya]

She sighs deeply, "there is nothing for it, such things will not be resolved in the middle of the night. Perhaps things will look clearer under Lady Amaterasu's light."

[Seppun Hideo]

"Perhaps" Hideo nodded, a small smile as he places a gentle kiss on Amaya's cheek "tomorrow will be a better day, I'm sure. Let's head to sleep my beloved."

[Ide Amaya]

"I think that's a good idea," and, leaving her clothes where they had fallen, she moves to the corner and prepares the bedding.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo stays where he was, watching her for a few moments before he rose. He then moved to her side, slipping his arms round her waist and kissing her on the neck. "Anything I can do to assist, my love?"

[Ide Amaya]

She shakes her head, and shakes out a thin blanket. "No, love."

[Seppun Hideo]

"Are you sure?" He whispered gently in her ear, nuzzling her "I'm a very useful man, I could do many things to help if you require it"

A shiver goes through her body, desire unfurling in her loins. She exhales longingly, licking her lips.
