Meanwhile... I hope Tomoe in the end will get some CP for all her hardwork in educating the Unicorns with her history lessons. I enjoy writing them up, especially since people like them, but rewards for the hard work would be nice too.

The last time I ran Star Wars, I was trying to reform my murderhobo players. Made them leaders of a colony (giving them a home), and told them to make good people (hoping to avoid murder).

One of them made a Wookie who declared that he would keep the colony's miners working harder with his baton. At the end of the first session, they wanted to know if they could use penal labor. In the second session, they discussed breaking a prisoners legs to keep him from escaping.

I yelled at them for a while, and then moved to another state.

I think you can blame D&D for setting decades of precedent of casual murder in search of riches.

And not always successful, as I can attest to.

Actually, my wife running for the same group had a bit more luck than I did. Not entirely sure why. I'm taking partial credit; I'm a strong influence in the non-murderhobo direction as a player. But that's obviously not all of it. If I run for a similar group again, I'll have to see if she has any tips.

The other thing is that murder hobo is easy, it takes little thought and you can always move the plot along with more killing and more shinies with little character development.

I've gotten around that by letting my players find out that, as a matter of fact, the king does have an army, and it is, in fact, staffed by professionals who can, and will, kill them, so no, they cannot threaten the king in his throne-room.

Yeah that works but I don't always like to resort top the bigger stick method, I prefer to work with them and deliver story arcs and see what sticks.

I would rather have a partnership as player and GM than an opposition relationship.
