Hunting the Unknown (Day 5, EM)

[Shinjo Kemuri]

When she laughed, Kemuri coaxed Sarangerel into a short burst of speed. He wanted her to feel the exhilaration every ride brought him.

[Matsu Kogo]

She clutched tighter, but savored the feeling. It was as if the wind was scouring the darkness from her heart. She yelled in sheer joy, thrilled at the power of this massive beast.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

After a few more minutes of hard gallop, they slowed. Kemuri glanced over to check on Noboru. He had kept pace fairly well and seemed fine.

[Matsu Kogo]

She looked back at Noburu. "You are a swift beast. I must find a horse who you can stand you so that I will not slow you so much."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"It's just a matter of training, Matsu-sama." he assured her.

[Matsu Kogo]

"That is a good thing to know. Perhaps if I raised a young horse or maybe one that is not full grown, I could accustom them to each other. Or perhaps I could speak to some of the trainers of your Clan. Your horses have been the calmest ones I have seen around Noburu."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Our horses fought their way through the same darkness we did to come home." he explained. "They're less skittish than most expect. But, standard training should suffice.,

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "I had heard some of this. Otaku Chi-pu had mentioned it." She paused.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He slowed back to a trot.

"I think we're at a good distance now. Shall we look for tracks?"

[Matsu Kogo]

"Yes, that sounds like an excellent idea."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He reined Sarangerel in, stopping so they could dismount. "Anytime you wish to ride, however, you need only to ask."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles at him as she dismounts. "I will hold you to that, Shinjo-san. I have discovered a rather intense love of riding these past few days."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

Dismounting, he patted the horse's neck affectionately, offering Sarangerel a plum.

"I will take you wherever you wish, Matsu-sama, whenever you wish."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles. "Thank you Shinjo-san. You are too kind."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Now, let's look around for tracks or any other signs of animals in the area." he suggested, leaving Sarangerel to graze as he began to survey the area.
