Hard to say. They did Enemies of the Empire the way they did, but they also used the dark Heresy percentile dice when they had Dark Heresy. considering how Warhammer Fantasy did when they tried to make it in their story dice image, they may be considering keeping RnK for L5R.

GW required them by license to keep percentiles for Dark Heresy.

They did attempt to turn Dark Heresy 2nd Edition to their own custom system but faced a playtester revolt and rewrote back to percentiles, but then they threw that contract under the bus.

Still it's FFG so I'll have to wait months longer than the US anyways. Their distribution system is so ****ed up. 11 weeks after release before the first copies of some books make it to Europe now.

Looking at the new rules systems as introduced so far, I'm intrigued. It isn't going to be like the old L5R, but it does look interesting. I have no problem with characters having limited timespans, though the Rings seem odd. Have to see how that works out. And, you only have to crack 3 provinces before you can attack the opponent's stronghold? Different. Also, it didn't say if the provinces were totally gone, or just 'broken' for purposes of whether you could attack the stronghold. Clarification could change things there.

I did like the card draw mechanic. Makes honor much more vital of a force.

As a general Phoenix player, that they have gone from Shugenja to Artistic Mystics seems - odd. I'll have to see what that means in the end.

I'll certainly pick it up - it'll be interesting to try it, and I love me some L5R. It might not be the CCG, but I'm giving it a shot.

I've got a steampunk roll and keep rpg that I've been working on in my spare time for the past year or so.

This far, playtesters seem to like it. >_>
