Day 2

7th day of the Month of the Monkey, 758

The day starts warm and continues to get hotter as it progresses, finally reaching its peak in the Late Afternoon. Anyone wearing fur is most likely quite uncomfortable and tempting heat stroke (+5 to your TNs if you're wearing fur in a thread). Even cloth and silk become uncomfortable in the warmest parts of the day, with only a mild breeze to help cool things off.

Fortunately, the overly warm day segues into a more comfortable evening once the sun sets. The sky is clear, and the waxing moon can be seen shining down from the heavens, providing quite a bit of light for the samurai below.

Rumors

There seems to have been some sort of disturbance late last night in the northwestern yurts. Evidently some yurts burned down and a Unicorn shugenja was injured. Maybe someone had a bit too much of that fermented milk and wandered too close to a campfire? Fur is pretty flammable, you know!

Have you heard of Moto Butaj? He apparently sniffs the hair of those younger than him as way of greeting. These Unicorn sure do have some strange traditions...

Speaking of traditions, it seems as if Moto Bataar is picking up on the Empire's traditions very quickly. He's already displayed a natural talent at sadane! Perhaps someone will organize a friendly game so that he can display his skills?

A few samurai were spotted riding those huge Unicorn horses yesterday. Or at least, sitting on them while the Unicorn watched from a few feet away. It's good to see that the samurai of the Empire are making an attempt to find common interests with the new arrivals.

A lot of samurai sure look green around the gills after that dinner late night. Then again, fermented milk and shrimp probably aren't foods that are supposed to be eaten together...

Someone should ask that Moshi who their perfect match is! She seems to be really good at divining the future. You can't leave this stuff to chance!

New sign posted near animal pen:

"Be careful! Sheep will eat straw cloaks if you get too close!"
