[Moto Khulun]

Oguro breaks free from the grasping and tries to strike the oni with his hooves but is far too frightened to do anything.

"Shinjo, what is this creature"

Chi-Pu looks on in horror as Tianma gallops toward the beast.

The warhorse darts past the gripping tendrils and lets out a shrill whinny.

As if on cue, Chi-Pu lets her katana swing, but the blade hits only air.

Tianma uses all her weight to run over the demon, the huge steed barreling over the demon, sharp hooves stomping into demon flesh

The second Otaku steed seems to have just as much trouble as the first; despite its weight and the force of its charge, the demon merely takes the hit and slashes at the steed as Chi-Pu dances it away.

The oni remains unfrightened of the cavalry charge.

Massacre gleams red as it flashes down again with a brutal strike, the Moto princess foregoing any care of her safety for the savagery of combat!

Khulun's blade cuts deep into the oni, parting its flesh as if it were a mortal being. Another wave of sickly vomit-ichor oozes out from the wound as the demon hisses in pain.

Seeing the lack of effect that everything (except for the Moto’s sword) was having against the creature, his priorities shifted instantly. His horse still bound by the rising tendrils, he did his best to guard the Otaku heiress and the Moto.
“I shall protect you, Otaku-sama, Moto-san! Trust in me!”

The demon raises its arms and begins manipulating Hakhim's seal, but one of the horses surrounding it jostles it before it can complete the spell. With a hiss, the oni sinks away into darkness, reappearing a dozen feet away, on the other side of Shinjo Taichi.

The Moto princess nods to her allies and leads the charge … this creature thinks the Moto will simply submit! She gives another ululation and strikes with savage fury thanking her ancestors that her uncle saw fit to gift her with a blade worthy of hero!

Massacre flashes red in the night as it strikes again.

Khulun's blade cuts another deep wound in the demon, this time across its chest! The scent of vomit-ichor hangs so thick that it seems almost to be a cloud across the battlefield.

[Shinjo Taichi]

It was a tough decision, but one that he had to make.
Climbing down from his steed as fast as he could, he rushed towards the creature’s new location, taking up position once again next to Kitakuhime, determined that she would make it through this. His shield seemed tiny before the creature.
