Stretching legs (Late Morning Day 1)

[Seppun Hideo]

Another decided to make the short walk to the Horsemanship fields. The fame of the Unicorn horses was known to all, and he was sure his kin among the Miya would love to know more.

So Seppun Hideo stood to the side, watching for the moment.

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

All too happy for a distraction, Tomonaga did turn, offering a bow in the Imperial's direction. He straightened, but his body language remains open; he does not actually greet the Seppun, but it is clear enough that he is welcome to join them.

[Shinjo Akil]

Noting the bow from the Yasuki, Akil bowed to the new arrival as well, low enough to be respectful since this person seemed like someone who mattered. And you have to treat people who matter properly! Do not offer your hand. Do not offer your hand.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo noted the bowing samurai, and moved closer with a smile.

"Good morning Mina-sama. I hope you are all well? Forgive me for my intrusions, I merely wished to get to know the village better, and my wanderings took me here. I am Seppun Hideo."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga stepped forward slightly, taking the lead, bowing. "Please, join us, Seppun-san. We were just talking about... all sorts of things." Actually, he wasn't entirely sure what they were talking about.

"My name is Yasuki Tomonaga. This is Shinjo Akil, and this is Asako Sayuri. Shinjo-san was kind enough to allow us to admire his horse."

[Shinjo Akil]

Akil bowed, of course, again tapping Setem to persuade him to mimic the motion. "Good morning, Seppun-sama. It is my honor to meet you."

[Asako Sayuri]

Sayuri bows low.

"An honor indeed Seppun-sama. Yasuki-sama is indeed correct, we were discussing the majesty of Heaven's works as exemplified in the bond between the samurai of the Unicorn and their steeds. If I may be so bold Seppun-sama, what brings you to these fields today?"

[Seppun Hideo]

"No serious reasoning behind it Asako-san" Hideo said with a chuckle "we are going to be here for at least twelve days, and for those that end up marrying into the Unicorn could find the lands around here to become a part of ones home. As one of the samurai gathered here for the miai, I thought it would be good to get to know the area, and my wanderings brought me here."

He paused, looking to the Shinjo.

"I must say Shinjo-san, that is a magnificent horse. How does he or she ride?"

[Shinjo Akil]

"Seppun-sama is kind in his words," Akil said calmly, "I have ridden Setem near every day since the day he was strong enough to carry me. For me, at least, the ride is as smooth as can be. He is a stubborn boy, though, and did not always like other riders.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo chuckled at this.

"I imagine we must also have a strange scent to them as well. The different odors of the samurai here, the many perfumes...it must be quite an adaption."

[Shinjo Akil]

"He has been getting used to it since I have started Rokugani perfumes," Akil laughed, "but the first time I approached him when wearing it, it took him a solid minute to recognize me."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga chuckled lightly at that. "Oh? How interesting." He peered at the horse curiously. "I've ridden before, but I'm not all that familiar with the behavior of horses. Smell's more important to them than sight?"

[Seppun Hideo]

"I believe that's the usual for most animals" Hideo nodded to Tomonaga "but I cannot claim to be an expert on animals to say either way."
