Goodbye for now (D11, LE, Open)

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo, with no trace of the tears from earlier on her face, finished the last pieces of packing, arranging the pieces outside of her Yurt for easy transport.

Ahh Kami. I will be both sad and happy to leave this place. It is all just a bit bittersweet. Unable to leave in a dash, she sits out front with Noburu, sharing one last evening in some peace.

"So will you mind being away from all your pridemates? I am sure we can go visit frequently." Noburu growses but snuggles against her side. "We will be the first Lions in this territory. Like a new pride. There is something to be said for that."

[Shimizu Ryori]

Ryori joins Kogo outside the yurt, his own pack slung over his shoulder. His sister pads up next to him "Iuchi-san" he smiles at Kogo "Mind if we escort you?"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo chuckles. "Not Iuchi-san yet, Shimizu-san. But yes, I would be glad for some company. Too much time with new friends this trip, not enough with old, ehh?" She picks up her packs and clicks her fingers at Noburu. "It will be good to go home, even if it is not forever. I swear, I am positively looking forward to seeing my mother." She says with a rueful smile.

[Shimizu Ryori]

"It appears they are sending me a Shinjo, I am hoping she has more manners then the storyteller who was here" he sighs snd leans down to pet Kyra "There were quite a few here I could see a future with, but we must all do our duty"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks slightly confused. "Do you mean Shinjo Hanashi-san? He was quite polite to me. I hope he was not rude to you." She nods, her face tight. "Duty calls, and we must answer."

[Shimizu Ryori]

He nods "He mocked our traditions and ways and qeustioned Kyra being allowed at the Miai when I first arrived, several others came to my defense though and I saw no more issues after that" he shakes his head. "We come from very different places, I had thought that we were finding kin ship from talking to many of the Unicorn, but ... Kitsu san and I discussed, the contests they choose reflect that thier priorities and ours do not mesh. And those who I most respected amongst them have all married out, to become monks, or Scorpion. Or died. Yourself and Imane are I think my only allies in the clan to be had from all of this."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks slightly shocked and confused that they have come to such different conclusions on the matter. "I am sorry it was so difficult for you Shimizu-san. Everyone was quite courteous and kind to myself and Noburu." Then again, they all did look slightly afraid of her. But I am sure that would have passed with time. "Many of the Shinjo were quite intrigued by Noburu. Perhaps Shinjo Hanashi-san has some fear of cats like her?"

She ponders for a moment. "It is true, the contests were not to our strengths. But I recall someone saying that the Unicorn might have felt a pressure to show their...'civilized artistic' side, due to the rumors of their gaijin ways. I suspect the Crane likely had a hand in pushing that. And it is obvious that the events greatly favored those they sent. "

Her jaw clenches slightly. "Perhaps the Crane, having suggested the event, had some selection or help in selecting the events. It would be a piece of their ways, to influence things so."

And yet, would Doji Ameka-san have done such a thing? She is quite an innocent. Or it appears so, perhaps. Bah, politics!

"I hope we will be able to see some of the Otaku. Kitakuhime-sama was quite courteous to me and kind. I would spend more time with her and her kin. I only wish I would be marrying into their family. I am...unsure what use I will have to a Shugenja family."

[Shimizu Ryori]

"Every Shugenja needs a yojimbo, and the Iuchi are not solely Shugenja, they also serve as artisans, messengers, and scouts" he smiles "It is the family I would have choosen of all those there" he shrugs "Though the Otaku steeds are still quite impressive"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo ponders his words, not having realized the Iuchi were so diverse. "Ahh that is excellent. I did not know that they were not solely a shugenja fsmily. That gives me some hopes that we will have something in common. " she listens to him, saddened they cannot switch places as it were. "And I would have chosen the Shinjo or the Otaku. Particularly he Otaku for their trwdtment of women and their steeds. Ahhh, I hope some poor maiden will take pity on this one and allow her to ride again. It is what I have liked best of all things this miai."

[Shimizu Ryori]

"Yes well, both Otaku I arrived with our gone. One to the Oruchi the other the Scorpion. But we can not dwell on such things, because regret is a trap" he shakes his head "Are you read Kogo-san?"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo hears his words and shakes her head slightly. "You speak wisely Shimizu-san. And yes, I am ready." As ready as I will ever be. She shoulders her pack and Noburu comes to her side. "We shall see what the future brings us."

She waits to hear anything he says, and then they head away.
