Sorta kinda settling on a young senator or noble who is also a military officer fresh from training. Would be using the Ambassador tree, since that has leadership stuff.

Was initially looking at playing a grizzled and regretful spy, but what's up with the Infiltrator tree? It's 90% about melee combat. I guess I could do it with the Thief from EotE instead. Or a Sentinel specialization.

I was just looking at the spy for other reasons and that surprised me too. I guess they figure fisty cuffs is the secretive and silent way to take out people.

Yeah Spy is just really silly for not having any social stealth stuff. If you want to be a non-combat spy, I'd just recommend going Diplomat or something since it works well enough. Thief also is better at it.

Well if you have an idea of what you want to play, you can get by with just one.

I've been using edge of the empire, and it contains most of the neutral stuff you need. Classes in it are Bounty hunter, colonist, explorer, hired gun, smuggler, and technician. Each class also has specializations as well. To help shape your character further.

I'd suggest chatting with liu yue or khulun about what you might want, and they can probably help you pick a book.

I think you could do most Imperial or Republic concepts with Edge of the Empire at least acceptably well.

Anyways, I suppose you can do neutral with Age of Rebellion too. But I think Edge of the Empire can do the whole spread the best. But being a Jedi or Sith would practically necessitate Force and Destiny.

I wouldn't recommend buying more than one core book with so much overlap. Then again, I tend to get books via alternative ways. I can help you out on that end.

Do they come with a pilot/crew?

Sure, they are pretty average at their jobs.

Do we get much say in what kind of crew we get if we have a ship? I can likely handle the piloting but having a droid to do astrogation and mechanics as well various co piloting activities might be nice.

As for the bigger crews, I've considered joining one, but really my concept at the moment works best as a hireable solo on the short term, or perhaps part of a duo. I'm still considering options though.
