The foresight award goes to..... Matsu Yurio!
As she finished, Otaku Huan raises her voice. "I have watched many samurai attempt our tests, but none has shown such disappointment and anger at failing as Matsu Yurio. His desire to succeed, despite his inability to do so, has won my heart, and I shall take him home so that he might help my family raise our famed hunting dogs."
Iuchi Yukarin wrote:"And if it doesn't? And what about others?"
She shook her head, "I am not pessimistic, but I can't really say I'm optimistic either."
Yasuki Tomonaga wrote:"If it doesn't..." Tomonaga let out a heavy breath. "I guess we marry who we marry. There's no other way. Even though..." He swallowed. "Even though I feel like it'll tear me in half if that happens." He is silent a few moments, his jaw set.
He reached out, putting his hand on her knee, warm and comforting, giving it a little squeeze. "Would you like to borrow some of my optimism?" He said, giving her a smile. "I think I've got enough for both of us."
Moto Baatar wrote:Moto Baatar was surprised when the woman called his name; wasn't that the same woman Butaj had run to, after Hotaru chose him? He kept his face still as stone as she abruptly fled the room.
The young Unicorn approached the Phoenix delegation with as much decorum as he could manage.
"Uh, pardon me, mister Phoenix?" Baatar said to Asako Hirase, who had been standing next to her. Surely he was a member of his new family? "I'm, uh, super honored to have been chosen by your clan. I'm very sorry to trouble you, but, um... could you please tell me my new wife's name?"
Moto Baatar wrote:"You are my intended, and have been ever since you spoke my name," Baatar replied with as much gallantry as he could muster for this stranger who had chosen him. "I am...honored by your choosing me as your husband. I look forward to our life together in... umm... Asakostan? Is that where we live?"
Yogo Mizuki wrote:"Loyalty. Yes. I know. All the other Clans will tell you we are schemers and deceivers and they are right. But we are loyal to our own. We will discard our honor, our lives, and even our souls for our duty. No one will praise us for it like the Lion or Crane. No one will grudgingly respect us like the Clan. They will hate us for it. But we do it anyways. So, in the end. We only have each other. It's comforting really."
Mizuki has an inspired idea. Make her own lemonade out of these lemons would be the saying if she knew what lemons were. She smiles. "Butaj-san, I may have need for someone in the Phoenix lands. Swear to me your loyalty and work for me, and I promise you will spend more time there than the Bayushi lands."
