"With paper walls." he added with a chuckle.

"This I do not understand, not at all," Saksaha admits with a laugh, throwing up her hands. "They are not warm, they do not stop sound. Do they even stop drafts? Someone told me you can move them, but you can also move a cloth screen. And it will last longer."

He shrugged. "I have no idea. Maybe it will make more sense when we see more of it. I'll be content as long as I'm not given any more shellfish."

[Iuchi Saksaha]

"What, like those sea oyster things? They were... well, slimy, but I thought the taste was good enough." Saksaha shrugs.

She doesn't know at this point that her own future marriage is likely to take her to places where such marine delicacies are few, anyway, but if she did she wouldn't really mind about it one way or the other.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"I don't know." he admitted. "After a few too many of those insects, I couldn't stomach sampling anything else."

[Iuchi Saksaha]

"I don't think they are really insects..." Saksaha says, but none too confidently. "More like... fish. Fish with many feet?"

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Hai." he nodded. "Disgusting either way. I'm not sure I trust any seafood. It's good that I like rice and vegetables."

[Iuchi Saksaha]

"Well, I like those too, but I will not raise a child, in any country, without milk and cheese," Saksaha says with a defiant giggle. "So if the one who chooses me does not like these things, he may keep his opinion to himself. And when our children are strong and tall, he may thank me."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"If he's wise, he will thank you before then." he grinned. "It may be too much for me to hope for someone who approves of venison."

Unfortunately, deer were far too fuzzy.

"Dream big dreams, Marta-san," Saksaha says with a toothy grin.

"There is much I could dream of. Surely, venison is a small thing." he chuckled. "I will take whatever I get. I've survived on worse than I'm likely to encounter here, other than the shellfish."
