(Day 9, EM) Riders of the Steppe (Expecting)

[Moto Butaj]

"Our home is here and there. When the wind blows, where the plain is. Where you hear morin khur or ululation. We will be guests, but we will be hosts also, for there are things in places they live in they don't know about, and we do." Butaj looks toward the steppe. "We will learn their ways just enough so that we don't stop teaching ours."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A nod at that; "And at some point, they'll all be our ways."

[Moto Butaj]

"That point is not near, but we'll get there. We just need to tell many stories, live by our creeds and sire children we can rear to carry our traditions forth." He says as Huludai starts to be restless because of inactivity and dances around its axis. Butaj pats him with a laugh. "The rascal won't let us skip the fun part this morning. Race back to the camp?"

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"If you can call it a race when I leave you so far behind!" A laugh, and then he and Mori turn to begin the run back.

[Moto Butaj]

"You can leave Butaj behind only if you turn your rear to the village!" Butaj avers with a laugh, and gives Huludai his knees.

Hanashi turns about, riding backwards at Butaj's challenge, and waves, "Challenge accepted!"
