Pillowbook Party (Day 9, EA, Yuki's Yurt)

[Moto Khulun]

She looks between the two unsure if that was a subject worth investigating. She says, "You will take home a stallion though and a dear friend, gods willing."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Heh, I don't know yet if I will join the Unicorn, or remain a Hare, but... I think I could be happy as a Unicorn. There is much I can teach and help with here, I feel, a chance to do something more."

As Khulun says Yuki will take Butaj as a stallion, even Tomoe had to blush. "Stallion seems to be an apt description for someone like Butaj."

[Moto Khulun]

“He is far more tame than you realize. It will be good for him to go, life is good with Unicorn but better with others. Less past… less things to keep over his head,” she says with a nod.


“His soul is far too shiny for all the dark he has suffered. It is our way though, but he will have new start and I know he will make himself known.”

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki nodded in agreement that Butaj was more tame than many realize. "He's told me a little, though despite that he would want to stay." She smiled warmly once more. "We can both try for a new life together." Yuki nearly shined with that statement, then looked around at the other women.

"This feels like we should be sharing sake. But I don't have any." She looked to Khulun, who she considered to be the most likely to have a spare bottle.

[Moto Khulun]

“I don’t have any sake, only kumis on the horse, if that’ll do I can grab it,” she says warmly.

[Usagi Tomoe]

"He will probably benefit from a wife like you, Yuki-san, who seems to have a good head on her shoulder who can give him good advice."

"I am fine with kumis," the Hare said with a nod, as the diet of the Unicorn had not had a negative effect on her.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki floundered a bit, but eventually nodded her head at the offer of kumis. "Ah... well... I will try, anyway." She smiled. "He's a quick learner though, I'm sure he won't rely on me long to learn Rokugani customs."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"I don't think any of the Unicorn here will," Tomoe nodded. "From what I've observed here, they all seem to be very fast learners. I guess it comes more down to the balance of adapting to Rokugani customs without losing the traditions that have been with them for so long."

[Moto Khulun]

She rises and says, "We are Rokugani... we are just also Unicorn."

She goes outside and then returns with a skin and says, "Not much left but should be enough." She takes a drink and then hands it off.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki took the bag first and lifted it to take a mouthful before passing the bag on. At least she didn't make a face this time while drinking kumis. "Hai, of course Moto-san. I think kumis will remain one of those things that is only common among the Unicorn though." She glanced at the bag.

[Moto Khulun]

"Butaj will find a way," she says with a grin.

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Well, as long as there are horses, kumis is possible," Tomoe chuckled and accepted the skin as it was passed her way.

"So, apart from marriage and all that, what will you two be doing after this miai?"

[Moto Khulun]

“My sword arm grows dull, battle would be good. Surely there are bandits or enemies of the Unicorn that need killing,” she says with a nod.

“It should take some time for arrangements to be made and Massacre is a thirsty blade.”

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki sighed a little. "I'm not entirely certain what I will be doing, looking for a new posting no doubt." She shrugged slightly, then looked to Khulun, unsurprised. "The Badger may still need help wiping out enemy resistance, but aside from that things are relatively peaceful at the moment." She paused. "Though some bandits may see the Lion leaving Unicorn lands, and the time it will take for the Unicorn to settle, as an opportunity. So maybe you will not have to go far from home."

[Usagi Tomoe]

Something made the Hare shudder.

"Ah... right, yes, there could be bandits," she quickly agreed.
