"And Bayushi-kami had a use for a villain such as that; for the Yogo would not love the Scorpion." He smiles a bit after having paid rapt attention. "Yes...there is debate among the Marta about the meaning of the story. About the way to tell it. About how the Yogo serve."

He looks up to Mizuki a moment. "Try the bacon with a bit of apple."

Mizuki puts her on on. "And why do you think Yogo-shiryo is a villain?"

"Because, he agreed to serve and continue his bloodline, allowing the curse to carry on until it could not be contained." A small shrug, "That, is how the debate goes, at the least. Alternatively, he continued on in order to contain the curse within a visible family line; suffering again and again, generation after generation after generation. The fear and stigma that must follow any of the line. The loneliness, the courage."

A small sip of tea. His eye closes while he does so, enjoying the taste and scent. It opens again, looking to Mizuki. "All depends on how the story is told, I suppose. But if the Scorpion are Hantei's villain, then I expect the story is most often told in order to make Yogo-shiryo the jinn in the closet."

Mizuki maintains her on. And do I think I am a villain to for wanting children? But before she can figure out how exactly angry she should be, she needed to know another thing. "What is a jinn?"

He frowns. "My apologies for using an unfamiliar term. It is...hmm.."

"A jinn is a being of immense power. Strong, wise, immortal, undying. Formless fire and endless wind. The people of the sands believe the world was once there's; what the Unicorn know from encountering them is that a powerful sahir could bargain with them. Exchange gifts and service, for service and gifts." He nods. "A jinn in one's closet is often thought of as a hidden killer, come because a sahir has decided a death should occur."

A smile, "But. Some stories exist, wherein the jinn in the closet is there, to stop the monsters that would otherwise come for them in the dark. Protectors and villains both. It is one of my favorite phrases because of that."

But he said Yogo was a villain because he children. Not because it is our Clan's duty.

"I see. Thank you for the explanation." She eats some rice and decides to change the subject. "So, what do you think of the miai so far?"
