One Last Breakfast (D10 LM Morning)

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki had breakfast ready for her guest.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

It didn't take Hanashi long to arrive.

He was a bit confused, as one of his fellow Unicorn told him people were talking about him. It was odd; he hadn't told his story.

But! With two of his three sandals, he arrives.

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki answers the door. She is not wearing her mask revealing blue eyes, white hair, and a face similar to Crane. "This one is Yogo Mizuki. It is a pleasure to meet you. Please come in and sit." A breakfast is prepared possessing both Rokugan and Unicorn foods.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

Hanashi bows a bit, unsure of how far he should in this circumstance.

"Thank you for the invitation, Yogo-sama. I hope you were not waiting long."

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki bows in return. "I have not. Thank you for coming." She guides Hanashi to the offered seat. "I want you to know I am without my mask as a sign that I will be open and honest for this meeting."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A nod at that. "Bayushi-kami put on the mask after Shinsei gave him a slap; I think I understand. To what do I owe such an opportunity?"

[Yogo Mizuki]

"May I be blunt?"

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A brief nod; "If you think it best, it's certainly the common tongue among the Unicorn."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"I still haven't decided on who I would choose. I would like to meet as many Unicorn men as possible before the miai ends. Shinjo Liu Fei spoke well of you, so I wanted to meet you in particular."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A brief nod. "Oh? Butaj had mentioned to me that I was spoken of, I did not know Liu Fei had as well. Good to have clanmates who support you, eh?"

He holds both hands out to his sides, "I'm an open tale; what would you like to know?"

[Yogo Mizuki]

"Well, I want to know about yourself, what you want in life, and in a wife." Mizuki then eats some bacon. I'm going to miss you.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"I am a Teller of Tales. It means I educate, young and old alike, preparing them for the future by insuring they know the past and have something to guide them, no matter how dark it may get." He says, plainly and smoothly.

"Such is the way of the Marta, and has been for centuries. Hundreds of years of stories, passed down from Teller to Teller, soul to soul." He tries a little bit of one of the new fruits, wrapping the bacon around it. "What I want in life is immaterial; I am a samurai. If my duties can be done successfully, then I know I have served well."

A wry smile, "But I can say that to do those duties, it helps to hear stories; learn new ones so the old ones can be reexamined; the patterns seen and better told when next they are needed."

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki nods. "Have you heard the tale of the first Yogo?"

[Shinjo Hanashi]

He closes his eye a moment, holding up his hand as if to ask for a moment.

Below the eyelid, there's a slight bit of movement, as Hanashi passes through the stories he knows of the Scorpion.

"Something...about a Castle of Murder? A connection to the Asako?"

"It's not an often told tale; my apologies. I'm sure you know it better then I."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"That is impressive." Her smile indicates her she was impressed. "He was originally Asako Yogo, husband of Lady Asako. He was a powerful shugenja and cunning general. When his forces beat the Ninth at the Castle of Murder, the Dark One cursed. He was cursed to betray the one he loved most. A curse that has been passed on to all of his descendants." Mizuki waits for Hanashi's reaction.
