(Day 7, EN) I Can See Myself In You

[Usagi Tsukimi]

She paused, and took a bold move yet again, taking his hands, and leaning her head against his shoulder.
"I am happy, here with you." she stated quietly.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"I'm glad for that, and I hope for you to be happy come the end of the miai." He rests his hand on her head, trying to be comforting.

[Usagi Tsukimi]

"I will be," she stated assuredly. "I will find happiness. I always do. And I hope the same for you. All the better if we leave here together, but I wish you safe travels and many adventures."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Your smile certainly helps with that," he says with a smirk. "It's quite lovely and suits you."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

Laughter, and sparkling eyes.
"I should hope it suits me. Imagine if I had someone else's smile. That would be awkward. Or some lopsided thing that made my face go all wonky? Would you still want me, if I looked like this?" Tsukimi pulled a face, slacking her jaw to one side and crossing her eyes together.

He laughs at her playfulness. "Physical beauty is not as important to me as an adventurous spirit. Fortunately for me you have both."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

She fixed her face to it's natural state, and took a deep breath. He just called her beautiful. No one (save her aunt) had called her that before. It felt ...nice.
"One more reason to prove you are lucky, neh? Tell me a story, Monkhbaatar-san. Let me settle in to you, listen to your voice, and imagine listening to it as we grow old together."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Well, I'm not much of a storyteller, but I'll give it a try." He nods before thinking a bit. "Well, there's Shijo Hama. For as lucky as I am he was equally unlucky. But for as kind hearted and happy as I tend to be, he was twice so. That boy could not catch a break if you threw it into his hands. And it's not like it was truly bad things either... just incredibly inconvenient and unpleasant at times."

"We were both in our first year of training and we were practicing archery from horseback. He was actually a pretty decent shot, but sometimes the arrows... they seemed to get a mind of their own. I remember one of the incidents we were all practice shooting and his string snapped. It was a brand new string too. We had all gotten new ones that day. But the arrow stayed snagged on the string as the bow whipped open, drug it at an odd angle, and sent it flying off through the air."

"We all assumed that it flew off somewhere harmlessly, but a couple minutes later one of the Ide traveling with us showed up to the training field... exhausted, a bit beaten up, and red from head to toe. Apparently he had been doing some inventory work and Hama hit a bottle of red paint that he Ide had been using, causing it to burst and get all over the place. It surprised the Ide enough that he shouted and spooked a nearby herd of goats who didn't take kindly to the surprise themselves. A couple of them decided to play "ram the noisy person"."

"When everything calmed down and he saw that it had been a training arrow, he came to see us and find out just who had made this mess with their ineptitude. There stood Hama, assuming it had been his fault since he's pretty accident prone. The Ide walks up to him, and in a fit of revenge, turns a bottle of black paint upside down over his head. The paint didn't wash off completely for 2 weeks. We all had a good laugh at that for a while."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

How she giggled, as the story progressed and got more ridiculous.
"That sounds like quite the predicament. Poor Hama-san."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"He's always having problems like that. Some random problem that messes with someone else then comes back to bite him. But he takes it all in stride."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

"To keep one's chin up in the face of adversity is a sign of inner strength." Tsukimi nodded her head lightly.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"It's inspiring, entertaining and sad all at the same time. He seems resigned to his misfortune and jokes about it himself all the time."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

"Joking is better than being angry at one's lot in life. He makes the best of what he has been given, and that is an admirable trait. I think." she leaned into his chest.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"It absolutely is. We all like to help him out when bad stuff happens, but it tends to be crazy enough that you can't see it coming."

[Usagi Tsukimi]

"The best kind of misfortune is what you never see coming. That way, there's no dread involved."
