"I do not know yet, hard to have goals when I have just arrived in the long spoken of original homeland of my Clan. Knowing that I will spend the rest of my days here as another, no longer of my home Clan. But I will not allow myself to be placed in a roll which does not serve my potential," she offered in answer. Though there was no verbal addition she did look to him, expecting him to share next.

He nodded, "That's a fair and reasonable position. I too wish to find some measure of fulfillment in acquiring duties that fit my skill set. I feel I could do that here or with the Unicorn... and I'm sure you could do the same. What do you say your 'potential' is best suited for? Fighting?"

Fei gave a firm nod, "I am a trained warrior after all, Soshi-san. Trained in defensive arts I may even serve well as someones bodyguard or other service in the area of protection," she offered a little more.

"What of yourself Soshi-san, what type of duties might fit your skill set? Whatever that might be beyond the duties of a man wrangler?"

"I'm trained in our magistrate school. My future lies in that vein, capturing miscreants, administering judgement, seeing that taxes are paid properly... And I too am a warrior like yourself. In time of need, I too can fulfill the call for war." He said with a nod.

"Then you will one day become a Magistrate for your Clan?" she asked, "That is unless you are married into my Clan after this Miai here, of course."

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded, "And in that case I'd hope to be one for your clan. I think it's a position that your families will need in the very near future. Imperial law can be quite complicated."

"You would have quite the task ahead of yourself Soshi-san, it would be no simple thing to join a Clan through marriage and assume the duties of enforcing our or Imperial law," she pointed out.

He smiled, "I'm not one to shirk from a good challenge or an adventure. Are you?"

"Never," she replied with confidence.

He smiled, "That's an admirable trait. But I assume I should expect as much from someone of your strength after your travails to get here."

"It is not uncommon among the Shinjo, and there are certainly those that are more adventurous than I. Of course, all of us, every Unicorn, has made that journey. That brand of praise could be given to any one of my extended family, Cousins from every Family."

"There are even some that are left with permanent reminders of those trials. Many women who are just as formidable, if not more, than myself," she gave as a direct answer. Seemingly charged from... somewhere...

"Each individual can have the admirable traits of a resilient warrior and be worthy of praise independent of whether or not anyone else also possesses those same traits..." He said gently.

"You are strong as a whole, and you personally appear to be quite the strong woman to me... but I am just a casual observer... right now."

Fei listened, thought for a while and then finally just shrugged. "Alright, well.. thank you then, Soshi-san," she offered a little flat.

"Is strength an attribute you look for in a spouse?" He asked, not knowing how to take the woman's reply.

"Among others, yes, it is essential in anyone," she gave in response. Seeming to attempt to recover from her own lack of knowing how to respond.
