"That's basic animal training." he shrugged. "But, he certainly seems special."

[Ide Amaya]

She reaches up and strokes his fur gently, "that he is, and I am grateful."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"You said he came to you?"

[Ide Amaya]

"That I did, and he did. It was the night of the storm. I'd been very late getting to bed, and I hadn't quite fallen asleep, when I heard this little fellow scrabbling at the door flap. He was soaked through, muddied from head to toe, and when I began to wash away the mud, blood came away as well."

She scratches under Satsujin's chin, "since then, he's refused to be parted from me."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"That is a strong bond." He looked over the weasel. "And, he seems to be in good health now. You're special to him, as well."

[Ide Amaya]

"The Fortunes guided him to me, and I would never forsake such a sacred duty. I am happy to have him in my life."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He nodded appreciatively. "He is an unusual companion. Most would likely have pushed them out of their yurt, especially after the egg hunt. You must really like animals, Ide-sama."

[Ide Amaya]

"The weasels did not harass me, so I feel no fear from them. But how could I chase him away in his need? Surely no more than if a samurai had come to my yurt on such an ill-fated night." She is earnest, her voice soft and quite serious.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"You are kind and compassionate." he smiled. "I have a deep appreciation and admiration for all animals, but I'm not sure I could have taken him in the way you did. I don't think he would have come to me, either."

[Ide Amaya]

Smiling, "I wonder, perhaps, if he knew somehow, he was certainly very determined about getting inside."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Well, I do not know of anyone else collecting eggs who were not confronted by weasels." he shrugged. "You may have some connection to them."

[Ide Amaya]

A puzzled expression crosses her face. "I've always found it easy to read an animal's mood, and they tend to be... comfortable, I guess? around me. But I never considered that I might enjoy a connection to them."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Ah, so not just weasels then?" he nodded again. "That makes a bit more sense. I've never heard of anyone specifically connected to weasels."

[Ide Amaya]

Shaking her head, she laughs softly, "no, not just weasels. Doubly strange if you consider I've never seen a weasel before coming here."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Well, if all animals see you as he does, you may end up with many more companions." he said. "Or at least, you may find most animals seem friendly."
