Does anyone know about blueberry shrubs? I got some for my birthday (Well..they're en route but not here yet) and I have no idea how big of a pot I need to get for them.

You might want to toss the cultivar here if you know it, because they come in different sizes varying from shrubbery to large bushes in nature.

I'm getting two, because I know at least that much about blueberries.

One is the Pink Lemonade, the other is a Dwarf Tophat. I *think* the latter has it's own pot to start but the other I'm almost 100% sure does not so that's the one I'm most worried about finding a planter for.

Well the scientific name is definitely not Vaccinium pink lemonade

Says it grows to 4-5 feet, so a big pot to start with 18" perhaps (?) and a plan to put it in a garden?

Bear in mind I'm used to working with ericaceae in their natural environment, not as a gardener.

I have a place I'd eventually put it when it was big enough, but I want to pot it for the first few years* so that it can be brought in from the worst weather if needed.


*Not sure if it actually takes years to fill in a bush or not...

And the only types of blueberry-bushes I know are the kind that grow here in Norway, which I've been told are different than the ones in America. The ones here aren't really big bushes, and tend to grow... well, almost anywhere that has shade.

Because that's bilberry (vaccinium myrtillus). Their blueberry is vaccinium corymbosum or northern highbush blueberry.
