She shakes her head, as if trying to clear it. "I am sorry Akil-san. I...have been quite unfair to you over these days. I hope you will accept my apologies. I have been like a willful child, throwing a tantrum because it cannot have what it wants."

Kogo's attempt is less eloquent than she had hoped by a long shot, but it seems her emotion is, once again running away with her. However, it is very sincere and honest, like the Lion to the core.

"There is nothing to apologize for," he shook his head and smiled, "if anything, I should apologize for being so difficult."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles, unable to keep her face down any longer. "You are too kind. Again." She begins walking again, unsure of what to say, but needing the movement. She looks at him again, feeling that impossible pull to him all over again. "When did you know...that you felt the same for both of us?"

"The day I chose," he answered calmly. "When I realized that either decision would cause me pain."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo shakes her head. "Ahhh...that is a heavy burden Akil-san. I would not wish it for you." She looks at him. "Should I go? I would not wish to...dampen your enjoyment of the evening. You have already given me something....I did not expect. I would not wish your kindness to harm you on my behalf."

[Shinjo Akil]

"Please do not," he shook his head. "I would like to enjoy this evening alongside you, if that's ok."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles, looking down to a slightly growly Noburu. "Then I shall stay. Though this one gives me great grief for it." She clicks her tongue and Noburu bumps her leg, nearly knocking her over. "Noburu..." she says in a warning tone. The lion swishes her tail, flicking her in the side. "Your opinion is noted."

[Shinjo Akil]

"And to think she liked me before," Akil laughed. "I am sorry for wronging you too, Noburu."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo blushes. "She...is protective. It is her way." Noburu listens, almost as if she understands to Akil. Then she flicks her tail and walks away. "I fear...it is harder to earn back the friendliness of a cat than most. They are contrary creatures."

He nodded, "perhaps one day I will re-send her respect." He shook his head and laughed.

[Matsu Kogo]

She watches his laughter, caught all over again.

Matsu-dono, any guidance you could provide would be especially blessed right now. Benten, I would not mind a word from you either.

But the Fortunes and ancestors are silent, as they often are when most desired. "Perhaps..." She continues walking. Speech is more dangerous than I ever realized. "

Could you play another tune? I would hear more of your music if you are willing."

He smiled as she spoke, nodding. "Of course. What sort of tune would you hear played?"

[Matsu Kogo]

She pauses, feeling acutely her lack of knowledge of music. "Something...lively."

Akil nodded, then started to play again. It was lively, though not as technically excellent as the previous tune. Simpler, but still with a certain lively appeal. His eyes stayed on her through the whole process.
