Day 9 [LA] All The Pieces Of My Heart (Suteichi's Yurt)

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki takes a drink. "Then let us enjoy." She did not like the sound of 'last time.'

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"I planning to leave Dark Edge today. There is nothing here for me."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"Why?"

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Why?!" he mocked finishing another cup of sake and refilling. "Why not?! Be stuck choosing someone who I know damn well will be nothing but a spawning ground?!...I no longer see a point. Benten blessed and then she curses. I give my heart and make a fine shit of things yet someone else comes out smelling like a rose for effort I put in. I am a bold man and yet fortune has yet to favor me. Blessed with you and you will be gone soon. I was blessed with her and that now can be gone."

He sat and looked at the cup of sake before meeting her eyes.

"The pieces of my heart are enough to be threaded with a needle. Perhaps this is for the best to remind me that never give your heart to anyone. Even it they seem to be worthy of it. I do not like being someone's warm up act for them to be the main event."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"Isn't that the point of marriage? To make alliances and children? Love is nice, but not required." Mizuki still didn't know what happened. Did Liu Fei break up with him over the Curse? She seemed to take it well, but... Did he find out about another man? Mizuki didn't think Liu Fei was that kind of woman, but she didn't she herself was either....

"I know it hurts. But that is no reason to leave."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi sighed.

"I just don't want to believe the rumors that I have been hearing. Someone has it out for me it seems, and I need to know who."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"Then, ignore the rumors. YOu of all people should know they are about what people believe, not what is true."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"People cling to rumors faster than they cling truth. I have not seen her since the outing yesterday. You would think she would come to me about this."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"If she doesn't, she is unworthy of you." Mizuki takes a drink. "But she doesn't seem to be the sort of person to to let rumors affect her much."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Perhaps you may be right. I have spent the better part of my day trying to track this all down. Only three here with the ability to... cause this and I know you did not do this because we already had our talk about that. You wouldn't dare hurt me again. I wouldn't be so bold so to do that. So...no... couldn't have been him."

[Yogo Mizuki]
