This gives her pause, "would you like me to show you? It would go faster with the two of us."

Hideo considered that, then nodded and stepped forward. "That would be enjoyable. What do I need to do?"

[Ide Amaya]

"If you hope to have a horse of your own, not just for your bride, all the better to start learning now. Come, place your hand on his neck. You must endeavour to remain in contact with him at all times, but especially if you mean to walk behind him. By keeping one hand on his coat, he will always know where you are, and he is less likely to be startled and kick you."

She hands him the wisp she had been using. "This is a wisp, use it to rub down his coat. Firmly, but only in the direction of the coat, never against, never sideways. Be patient, it takes time to really make his coat gleam."

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo nodded, approaching the animal carefully. "Hey there Ti-Lu" he says calmly, placing a hand close to see how the horse reacts to him. Quite well it seems.

[Ide Amaya]

She takes Ti-Lu's face in both hands, "you are just a big softie," she coos. She takes up another handful of hay and twists it, to replace the wisp she had given Hideo. Her hand trailing along the pony's neck, she moves to the other side and begins at the top of the neck.

Hideo took a few moments to watch what Amaya was doing, studying her actions before he began to carefully echo her actions.

[Ide Amaya]

It's hard work, and for the longest time it seems as though the pair aren't making progress. Eventually they have worked their way to the withers and Ti-Lu's neck shimmered and gleamed.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo stepped back as he finished his part, looking at the horse. "Hmm, did I perform adequately?"

[Ide Amaya]

She moves around and examines the pony's coat, "yes, you have done very well. How sore is your arm? Because we have a ways to go yet." She strokes Ti-Lu's flank.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo stretched his arm. "I can still work, Amaya-sensei. What shall I do now?" He smiled at her

[Ide Amaya]

Indicating to the pony's shoulder. "More of the same. Ti-Lu will gleam from nose to tail when we are done."

[Seppun Hideo]

"Hai" Hideo nodded, moving over to begin the next part with the same focus as before. He was clearly trying to do his best..and maybe impress the beautiful Ide who loved horses so.

[Ide Amaya]

She returned to work on the pony's other side, humming contentedly as she rubbed the wisp firmly over Ti-Lu's coat.

Hideo took a few moments to listen to the tune of the humming, before joining in as he worked. It helped the work go by after all.

[Ide Amaya]

Eventually, her arm aching, Ti-Lu has been rubbed down from top to toe. Amaya discards the wisp and studies her handiwork critically.
