A Second Meeting (Day 7, EE, Expecting)

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A brief nod. "Hai. I met one at the feast. A Hare who trained with your family, I guess?"

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki smiled broadly. "Hai, Usagi-san." She liked that one. "Asako Hirase is also a trained scholar, and he knows a bit about the Yobanjin."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"Ah yes, the refusers." He frowns a bit. "What have they been up to while we've been gone, anyways?"

[Asako Yuki]

She shook her head. "Woefully uncivilized and disjointed, compared to Rokugan. But they seem happy that way." She shrugged a bit.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"It's good to hear that the Empire is friendly towards those who are not their own. There was admittedly some trepidation about whether or not we'd be welcomed home."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki frowned a bit at that. "Friendly is not the word that would best describe the relationship between the Yobanjin and the Emerald Empire. Raids from the Yobanjin are not uncommon. In fact barbarians had been assaulting the Badger in strength for some time. There is some contact that is not hostile, but it is the exception, rather than the rule." She clarified.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A raised eyebrow. "Then we'll need to get the Ide involved. Else we need destroy them from their misplaced attacks. Its good we returned to be of some help, eh? The Ide can bring peace between blood enemies, they should be able to help."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki paused at that and smiled. "That is a conflict that has been off and on for centuries. The Yobanjin have learned well how to survive retribution in the mountains, and the Empire would gain nothing by a protracted fight there to wipe them out, I think. As to peace... That would be nice to perhaps bring them back into the fold, maybe the Ide can help with that." She nodded a bit.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"If the Moto can prove to be samurai, who knows with the Yobanjin." He smiles, but after a second shrugs.

"I hope to travel the Empire at some point. Is there any sights one should see before the next turn on the wheel?"

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki shook her head. "From what I have heard, the Moto joined the Unicorn not long after you left Rokugan. The yobanjin have not. But we can hope."

On the issue of where to see, Yuki thought a long time. "The Isawa mori is a must see, as is the crane coast. The imperial city of course, and the spine of the mountain. All of those come to mind."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A firm nod. "Shouldn't take too long I expect. Perhaps a whirlwind tour soon. Thank you, Asako-san."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki's eyebrows rose. "That crosses most of the Empire, Shinjo-san." Then she paused. 'Though, I suppose compared to the journey you were just on, that must be little to you."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

He smiles a bit, "Hai, that exactly." A wave towards the yurts, "We're the children of the Wind. Can't quite move instantly between two different places, but I expect yourself and the Empire will be surprised by just how quickly we can move, when we've purpose to."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki smiled a bit at that. "Maybe not some among the Phoenix, Shinjo-san. Though we use powerful magics to move so quickly, not horses." She admitted.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"I expect that there is a friendly challenge that much of the Empire would like to see." A grin at that, and a chuckle.
