Kitakuhime replies, after calming herself down for a bit. "If she's the one you have your mind set, it is important that she knows you're dear to the Unicorn, since you might have to leave us."

She sits at the other side of the fire, thinks more, and continues. "I am not reluctant. Well, I am. But it is not that I don't want to. I just... I should fight alongside the shiotome. Ride with purity to defeat our enemies, like Chi-Pu-senpai! I don't want to marry now, and have babies the next summer."

The princess lowers her head. "Gomenasai. I am being shallow and selfish."

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj thinks Yuki would like to meet you. You are both remarkable women. Butaj also thinks it will be a good bond that will bring us allies among the Phoenix. They know a lot, and we need knowledge to adapt here. It will be a time of intensive learning for Butaj, but he is not afraid of that. He looks at her dearly. "Butaj will be the last in the world to speak ill of you. "There is a story of Chi-Pu only two other people know, but I think you need to hear it. On our second night here, when Khulun couldn't leave her yurt because she was too weak healing wounds after the battle, Chi-Pu and Hirase came over to keep her company. Butaj joined later too, and played for Khulun and others. There was a lot of kumis and friendly talk. And laugh. Butaj was happy to see Khulun recovering after he had brought Soshi Taira to her earlier, who is a good doctor and had taken care of her wounds. At some point it was obvious that Hirase and Chi-Pu feel strongly about each other, and that she wants to pick him and he would be happy about it. But she got drunk! Oh, how wasted she was. Wasted enough to say things what she would like Hirase to do to her when they would lay together. This is when we called it a night. Butaj carried Chi-Pu to her yurt and tucked her in for the night before getting back, and she fell asleep like a child. When Butaj was back Hirase was gone, and Butaj would have gone too but Khulun wanted him to stay and play, and then to join her in her fur fort. It is like his, Sayyeda. Even great people are just people. And maybe this is what makes them great." He smiles gently, then pulls the knife and starts cutting slices for her off the lamb.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

Kitakuhime's freezes as if the cold hand of Ningen-do itself slapped her in the face. Hard!

[Moto Butaj]

Whatever hard truths were exposed by his story, Butaj does not comment on them further. He rises with the plate, collects a cup of water from the bucket by his tent, then moves to her side, sits nearby and puts the plate and the cup in her hands, then turns toward the fire and sighs.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She takes plate and cup with in hand, obeying any command while looking to the fire with dead eyes. She sips, puts the cup down and takes on something to chew. Nomming over the meat before saying anything.

"Thank you, Butaj-san... for everything."

She handles the plate to him, "You should eat, too."

[Moto Butaj]

"Anything for my princess." He says quietly, then accepts a slice and chews on it thoughtfully. "Strange how it all plays out."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

As fast as lightning, and silent as she could, the Otaku princess smooches his cheek with a pop kiss behind the fire. "I'm genuinely satisfied. No indulgence for me tonight. Sleep, well, Butaj-san."

She sips the rest of the water, and rises.

[Moto Butaj]

He touches his cheek as he bands back to find her rising form behind him, upside down. "So after all those years Butaj gets a kiss from his princess!" He smiles happily, holding fingers at his cheek. "Rest well, Sayyeda."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Second princess, you dog!" She looks to him over her shoulder with a smirk, and departs to go to sleep.

[Moto Butaj]

He actually has a witty comeback but she departs. So he is a dog? Maybe he is in some aspects. Sighing, he rises to portion the rest of his lamb for future meals before he will prepare to retire as well, wondering what change, if any, he has precipitated in Kitaku's head which hosted a little stubborn goat not unlike the one she had asked him to fetch.
