My wife is from Austin, and my brother lives there. I visit regularly; I quite like it. Mostly because of how vegetarian friendly it is there.

I would suggest not going to Texas in summer. I live there and it can be pretty unpleasant. But then a cold cerveza or Margarita on a hot Texas day can be bliss.

The one year I went to Texas for any length of time, it was colder in Texas than when I had left Indiana >.>
