My planned character be for Nintoku was a Moto Maho Tsukai that used animal blood to fuel his Maho.

I think that the rules require you to 'draw blood of an intelligent creature' meaning human or similar creature. Else PC's woyld run around with 5 pets they'd be bleeding dry to fuel their magics.

Thought the Bloodspeaker path overrode that, also intelligent is super ambiguous. Pigs are intelligent, as are dogs.

a) I don't think such path exists in 4th edition
b) intelligence is highly debatable, but because the GM need to find some limitations to the maho for the sake of balance, so far in these games the blood has had to come from humans (or in one case, Togashi himself). If anyone could have a trivial access to large blood pool, much of the maho would become a balance issue.

It's true, he's not a zombie.

He's more of a yurei. If you look at the picture, you can't see his feet, and his arms are dangling limply to the side. Just need to recolor his kimono to white, and mess up his hair

Also, maho is already decidedly imbalanced, it's not like easier access to blood from a game design standpoint makes it radically more imbalanced.

Also, maho is already decidedly imbalanced, it's not like easier access to blood from a game design standpoint makes it radically more imbalanced.

Yeah, I am aware that L5R as a system has never been meant to be particularly balanced. However I believe that the GM on pbp's ought to make sure that everyone can enjoy the game, and that involves plugging holes left by the original developers.
