“So wise, Imperial,” she says with a glance to the fields.

“Was that your point, go to war? Now I am wondering why the Imperial families are so highly thought of.”

"Believe it or not, my point when I first approached Otaku-sama was genuine. I wished to help. But...we both said things that cannot be taken back."

There is a genuine laughter.

"I had this discussion with Shinjo Kemuri-san last night. I told him the history of the Miya, and he told me the history of the Marta. They are quite similar, in both deeds and duties. Yet forever the Miya will be held to a higher status than the Marta ever will."

Mei rolls a shoulder, stretching it a little.

“Indeed you did say things, and you are not the first, I am of mind to stop excusing slander and start taking tongues,” she says ruefully.

“Dabo-dono would frown on that so here we are.”

“Your help has not been all that useful. Maybe to you the Miya are of higher status but I would trust the words of a Marta over a Miya, it is known.”

Mei steps in closer and lowers her voice to a harsh, whispered tone.

"Good. And you should. You have been brought into an unfair world with an unfair system. I see a fire in your people, Moto-san. Keep it lit. Do something to change it."

She steps back and smiles.

[Moto Khulun]

“Maybe you have the soft skull?” she says a bit confused by this Miya and makes a warding motion with her hands.

“You are odd samurai.”

[Miya Mei]

Mei shrugs.

"No odder than most."

She turns to look at the shrine to Kakita, her head tilting upward.

"Let me ask you something, Moto-san. You were there yesterday. You heard all that was said between Otaku-sama and I. Who do you think was correct?"

[Moto Khulun]

“Sayyeda Kitakuhime, of course,” she says with no hesitation.

[Miya Mei]

Mei nods.

"Though, if I strike her before she me, it means she was wrong and I was right, because heaven will have been on my side."

She places a palm onto the hilt of her katana.

"Does it not seem a a bit unfair though, that I have trained every day since I was capable of walking in this art, and Otaku-sama is only just now being reminded of it?"

“You will be right for now but you will put seed of hate in heart of Unicorn and we will make right what you have done. So you will be right for now, but we will have our vengeance,” she says sternly.

[Miya Mei]

Mei turns back around and smiles brightly at Khulun.

"Good. But do not levy your hatred against me, Moto Khulun, heiress to the Moto. Levy it at those who made me who I am. I expect many will not see the difference, and I will be hunted by your people til my last breath is taken. I can accept this fate. But there is an entire Empire who thinks and acts as I do. Remember my first words. I am trying to help you."

“We shall see,” she says giving the woman a side eye and kneels down and gets to praying because this samurai-ko gonna make me slap her. Kami give me grace, I ain’t trying to kill nobody today!

Mei bows and sits down as well, closing her eyes again.

She stays in prayer or maybe just quiet while she tries to piece together the words of crazy kimono near her. None of it made any real sense and she wasn’t sure if the woman was just touched in the head and looking to spill blood because the spirits and demons in her head told her to do that.

Maybe she had an evil eye upon her.

She rises after many minutes and stands casting the woman a wary glance.

Mei's puppy comes running to her, barking and panting. It licks her in the face, causing the woman to sputter and scowl.

She stands in a hurry, trying her best to straighten herself, but pays no attention to the Moto.

“Your reasons don’t make any sense,” she says.

“If you had a message to share with the Unicorn you have failed in a big way.”
