13th day of the Month of the Monkey, 758

The day is quite pleasant, with a cool breeze that blunts the warmth of the sun. The sky is a bit cloudy, but otherwise quite pleasant to look at, and more than a few Unicorn can be spotted in the fields, laying on the backs and watching as the clouds go past.

In the Early Morning, Moto go from yurt to yurt with sacks filled with puppies, handing them out to the participants in the miai (see the event below).

Aren't these Unicorn women clever? Rather than naming a man, they choose a woman to avoid picking from their potential suitors.

Soshi Taira is a professional physician. He seems to be making a fair amount of check-up calls on Moto Khulun... maybe her injuries were worse than suspected?

Did you see that Imperial, Miya Mei? She's looking to start a duel no matter what, just to show off her skills. That seems terribly irresponsible for a member of the Imperial Families...

Iuchi Dong-Ha and Seppun Hitako make for a lovely pair, don't they?

Apparently, the Unicorn got mixed up and sang about platonic love, like with Shinjo Liu Yu's song about Yogo Mizuki, rather than romantic love. You would think that they would remember the rules to their own events...

Shinjo Liu Yue is totally jealous of Yogo Mizuki. Why else would she try to claim her, other than to stop all the men from singing their praises of the Scorpion's mysterious beauty.

The first Moto event went pretty well all things considered. Anywhere else in the Empire having a bunch of young samurai all openly singing about their love would have triggered a dozen duels and half as many blood feuds. These may be the most forgiving samurai in the Empire, but I think it's a good sign for the Unicorn's chances in the Empire.

Ide Samai and Yasuki Tomonaga sure were getting friendly yesterday...

Doji Fukawa's singing at the Moto contest was amazing! I'm glad she could put aside her personal embarrassment and really show that the Crane are masters of the art.

The Scorpion wear masks beneath their masks. Perhaps this is why Bayushi Suteichi needs more than one woman? Does he have one for every face?
