The Best I can (Day 6 Late Evening)

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Usually no." He confirmed with a nod. "Most quiet moments are out in the wilderness, usually under the cover of night, and even then you have to keep your ears open, and be aware as you can be of your surrondings."

[Tonbo Misa]

"There's always time to center and focus yourself. I certainly can't do it when attending as an advisor for instance, but in the moments before rest, or having just finished a meal. Not that I believe everyone wishes to meditate, or gets the same thing from it..." She trailed off before sounding a bit wistful. "It can't hurt though."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I think it would be something I could do in my home life, in the field, I'm not sure I would be able to find the time." His carving paused as he sat it aside and picked up his cup of water. "Of course that may be because I'm not to versed in such things. He finished before taking a drink. .

[Tonbo Misa]

"I don't know much about the training of the Ichiro, but if I had to guess, such things aren't normally taught." She shook her head, but kept her smile. "With all that needs to be done, I can understand why, if that's true. Still... if Ichiro-san ever finds the opportunity, I think he would find it helpful."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Perhaps sometime after the miai." He offered, he didn't think he had time before then. "If I was to try my hand at a new skill here, I'd like it to be one I might find of use if the upcoming events, though without knowing what they might be."

He trailed off. "Well I guess you could say, I find it most worthwhile to practice that I do know."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa nodded softly. "Of course. It befits duty to do so, after all, and I doubt there will be any sort of showing of meditation after all, as there was for scouting."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Well I can't say that test was much like the scouting I know... I'd liken it more to finding details in a painting."

"Its probably the best one can do though, with as many participants as we have here." Then there was the canned weasels.

"A lot of people got injured as well, I think our hosts underestimated their weasel population."

[Tonbo Misa]

"I had skipped the event, for obvious reasons, but I had heard word about weasels." She looked momentarily troubled. "No one was too hurt, were they?"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Someone lost a eye." He admitted.

"A few others suffered some fairly serious bites. Nothing life threatening, but they will likely carry some scars."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa nodded solemnly. "I'm surprised I didn't hear more about that. There are certainly some clans that would take such things happening to their samurai as an insult." She paused to smile a bit again. "Though it sounds as if Ichiro-san made it out of the experience safely."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I suffered a bite or two, honestly they weren't any trouble though. I'm quicker then most of my cousins after all."

"As for the one that lost their eye, it was one of the fox. Perhaps they didn't wish to cause too much trouble, being descendants of the unicorn."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa looked deeply thoughtful. "One of the Fox... I had heard there were two here, unless it was Kitsune Takeo-san."

After an introspective pause, she finally shook her head to clear it. "Regardless, things will work as they will. The less trouble the better." She allowed a smile to return to her lips. "The sound of your whittling has been a great comfort to me through our conversation Ichiro-san. For that you have my deepest gratitude."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"No, the woman Kitsune Kumahime." He clarified, he should of just told her in the first place, but he didn't know who she had met already.

"That's the truth, we are all here to win spouses after all, the more peaceful things are here the better." His lips spread into a small smile at her compliment. "You're welcome Tonbo-sama I'm happy it pleased you."

[Tonbo Misa]

She stood with a bit of help from her servant and gave Daisuke a bow. "And I am thankful for letting me feel your work. It is getting late however, and it's a small walk back to the town. Carry the Fortunes with you Ichiro-san."

With that, she took her leave.

"Carry the fortunes Tonbo-sama. " He said rising to his feet to return her bow, before going back to his work.
