The Best I can (Day 6 Late Evening)

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa kept the little carving for now, just idly running thin fingers over it, as if to memorize it's features and shape. "Art... hai, you could say that. Things such as painting gardening for color are a bit beyond me, and I would have a difficult time making a statue or ikebana arrangement look just right, but I can sing a bit... and if you consider it art, I am versed in the tea ceremony Ichiro-san. Nothing so wonderful as this."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I've always enjoyed a well sung song Tonbo-sama, and as far as art goes, I think it's a easier one to share then what I do. Probably more well loved to."

"And I do think of the tea ceremony as a art form though perhaps not in the same way as other forms of art."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa gave a small nod. "It's certainly something I've always found easier to experience myself. A song is the same to me as to anyone else, other than seeing the singer's outfit, their face, that sort of thing. The song itself is just the same. A statue, large or small, is something I can feel, but not every one is meant to be touched. I imagine the Seppun would have something to say if I tried to feel a statue of the Hantei to see what he looked like."

She smirked faintly at the idea, but spoke warmly at the comment on the tea ceremony. "It is different, yes, but at the same time it's the form of art that most aligns with the lessons I was taught. It's as much like a prayer or meditation as it is an art, after all."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I've never had much time for either of those during my training as a scout. Likely for a reason, it's our duty to keep moving and hidden. Staying still for too long can lead to your death after all."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa nodded, smiling gently. "Such a different life from my own. I was in only two places most of my life, not hidden and moving little. It must be wonderful sometimes, traveling and seeing and experiencing all the different places."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"At times." He conceded with a small smile, picking up his carving supplies to begin working again. "A lot of the times it's just plain exhausting though. There are a lot of things one needs to keep in mind when scouting, and it can be draining."

[Tonbo Misa]

"I suppose that's what makes it a duty, yes?" She smiled, listening to the Badger's whittling.

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"No, I wouldn't say so." He disagreed a frown crossing his features.

"Those are the things that make it difficult,"

"That it's my duty makes those same things worth doing."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa just shook her head, keeping her smile over his tone. "Perhaps, but I'd also say no duty is easy. If it were, it wouldn't take a samurai to do. Representation in the courts, scouting, fighting in wars.. all deeply complex."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Perhaps, and while I would not say my duty is easy, I would not say it is difficult either. Many would think of difficult things as a burden on them, and to me duty is nowhere near that."

"Perhaps complex may be a better word for it."

[Tonbo Misa]

"Complex." She nodded softly. "It takes practice, focus, dedication. All are not easy, but all are things one would wish to do."

"Exactly so." He offered with a smile, his hands still busy with carving, the piece was starting to take shape now but it would be a while yet before he neared completion.

"All the same... I still believe one can cherish those moments of peace and serenity all the more for those more difficult times. I know that despite my own hardships in duty, the quiet moments have been all the more special for it." She had remained silent a long moment before adding that softly, clearly just listening to Daisuke's handiwork.

"I spend most of these quiet moments in thought, but I can't say I've ever considered how special that makes them." Too many other things to occupy his mind. He was kinda curious though, did it make them special?

"I suppose that means I just think of different things then you though."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa gave a soft laugh at that. "I can only imagine so. My training emphasized meditation and no thought, sitting with one's mind as clear as it can be, seeking that which is the ultimate truth, seeking enlightenment. I can't imagine the quiet moments as a scout allow such."
