(Day 6, LA) Untamed

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki opens her eyes and turns her head to see, and the view is stunning enough to the Phoenix that for a moment she forgets to hold on and slips a little once again. With a sharp yelp, Yuki grabs tighter and watches the world of reds, yellows, and oranges strike across the sky. Quietly, the Phoenix intones a thankful prayer to the Fortunes and the Kami for their gifts upon this world.

[Moto Butaj]

When she starts to slip his grip of her hands helps her stay where she was. He waits for the end of the prayer, the low throat sound buzzing in a way that compliments her supplication to the Fortunes. At the end, he ululates so powerfully that the voice is carried all across the steppe and reverberates in the shifting winds.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki placed her head against Butaj's back again, giggling as his body shook with the power of his voice. She didn't have the practice to even try, so she simply enjoyed the call.

"Butaj-san. Why do the Unicorn make that call?" She finally asked.

[Moto Butaj]

Since Huludai started foaming and it is better to admire the view at a slower pace, Butaj pulls the reins a little as they ride toward the western horizon, just enough to hear her voice. "Butaj doesn't know. But he knows where is the right moment to do so. It is like letting the heart speak without thoughts."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki smiled a little. "I see... I think. We don't really have anything like that here, though I think father once mentioned the Yobanjin doing something similar." She hugged him a little closer. "Many in Rokugan do not let their heart speak."

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj realises that. But Butaj thinks good things about him are those that he does not give up easily just because it's different. Butaj will learn to speak with the heart only to those who deserve to hear it." He brushes her fingers clasped on his stomach. 'Like Yuki. Butaj feels he could let his heart speak freely with you."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki squeezed Butaj again. "Hai. And getting to let my heart speak to you has been..." She placed her head against his back again and let out a contented sigh. "If you end up with the Phoenix, there will be more for you to learn, I think. But I know we can handle it."

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj will learn what is needed in such case. Butaj can do many things if he has the right reason." He chuckles. "Yuki ca be his very right reason. Butaj feels so, strongly now." Gallop turns into trot. Huludai is chill with a brief respite.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki blushed again. "I think, that would be good, Butaj-san. I would like that, if that were to happen." She paused. "Were you never taught how to read?"

[Moto Butaj]

"Not thoroughly. As a bastard, Butaj was neglected. Butaj knows some characters but not enough and mixes them up often." He is a little embarrassed to admit it but he trusts her, and his shoulders don't slump. "Butaj will learn even if it means he will have to sit long in one place."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki smiled and hugged him. "I will teach you, then. We'll especially have to be certain that you can read and write before I get home. I think mother would feint." She giggled a bit.

[Moto Butaj]

"Will she not be charmed when Butaj plays for her?" He chuckles, bending his neck back slightly to make their heads affectionately connect. "Butaj would like that very much, having Yuki guide his hand in making strokes."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki smiled and gently leaned into the head press. "Maybe, but many in my family study in the library. The idea of a samurai being unable to read and write would be shocking to them." Butaj mentioning having her hand guide his made Yuki think of HIrase's instructions and the woman blushed suddenly and buried her head in Butaj's back.

"H-hai, that would be nice." She managed to get out, heat radiating off of her face.

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj has deft fingers so he is sure that with Yuki's guidance the brushwork will go very well." He rejoices at the contact, and the heat. "Let's do it next time Yuki has some time for Butaj."

[Asako Yuki]

"Deft?" The woman squeaked a little. "Ah, hai, soon." She nods into his back, or at least tries. "Maybe not next time though." The Phoenix maiden's breath was quicker now, her mind on other things despite trying very hard to be good.
