[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo listens to the directive but has no idea how to respond. She listens intently, swaying a bit to the music. She begins humming, not knowing what else to do.

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji begins clapping his hands together to create a rhythm. "You choose what you sing and how you sing! A verse plucked from the winds. Your turn Kogo-san, sing about whatever you want! As long as it's a happy subject!" He begins humming a basic melody to help the lion along.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks slightly baffled, but she does not wish to be rude. Thinking frantically, she listens to the melody. He is using the theme of my family. So perhaps, I should do the same? "My brother Kobu waits to hear who his new brother will be. I will hope that he will be half as pleased as me." She sings, slightly off key and slurry.

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji laughed as he clapped! "Good Kogo-san! You're getting into the groove now!" He took a deep breath and in a deep voice sang. "My cousin was a Hida, for all he spoke of Walls and defence, he never did seem able to stand even nearly as steadily as a wall any longer than he was out of sake!" He gives a hearty laughter again. "Now you Kogo-san!"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo is deeply concerned she is making a fool of herself, but there seems no way to extract herself now. At least there are no other samurai present. "I learned to ride a horse now. Its feet go fast and fleet. When I go a riding, I feel wild and free."

Kogo's rhyming could obviously use some help, but the sincerity is there.

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji smiled, he was starting to see the Lion's discomfort. One more verse... For the ages! He thought. He took another deep breath and began to sing. "Oh there's nothing quite like a Unicorn miai. Milk and horses both run free. Women sing and men dance, and there's even a dragon in there for chance!" He finishes with a laugh.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo takes a deep breath. Something about the miai, but not offensive....Come on Kogo....

"There's nothing like a miai. Hearts and minds do meet. And friends can find each other, to make the bitter sweet." There,
that's not bad.

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji slapped his knee and stopped clapping. He let ring out one final high pitched sentence. "Sakurako sings like a frog!" He stopped singing as he laughed. "I.. I am sorry Kogo-san. It is a joke I shared with my siblings when we did this. Old habits and so forth..." He straightened himself and smiled at her. "Thank you for the company Kogo-san. I hope you feel better than you did when you entered." He bows.

[Matsu Kogo]

She returns the bow. "Have no fear Hiroji-sama. I understand the ways of siblings a bit myself." She smiles. "Strangely, I do. I would not have anticipated it, but....the singing lifted my spirits. I did not realize how long it has been since I have done such a thing."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

He nods, still smiling. "Song is a beautiful thing. It can raise spirits as well as lower them, make a man cry or laugh. It is good for the soul to sing."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles at him. "Then perhaps I shall try this event, instead of bowing out as I planned." As she correct her balance for the third time, she slows her movements down. First...some tea. "I must be off if I am to prepare. I wish you luck in your endeavors Hiroji-sama. I hope things look better for you before too long."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji's smile saddens a tad. "Thank you Kogo-san. I hope you too will find the rest of the miai to be better than the portion that preceded it."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles at him. "Perhaps the battle is only beginning Hiroji-sama. Do not lose heart yet." She bows and exits after hearing his last words.
