Hard Conversations (Day 7, Early morning, Kogo's Yurt)

[Shinjo Akil]

He took a breath, stopping again as he felt her lips, this time on his cheek. After a long moment of silence, he nodded.

"You are right. No more tears. You continue to shower me with gifts that I do not know I deserve, and I will cherish them every step of the way, Kogo." His hand moved to her shoulder, gripping it firm and tight. "You are one of the kindest people I have ever known, and I am not sure that you see that in yourself. Thank you, Kogo. For everything."

[Matsu Kogo]

She bows her head a moment, listening intently to his words. "Kindness was not....valued in my home, so you may be right that I am ill equipped to see it in myself. But I thank you for your words and the gifts you have given me as well."
She smiles wryly.
"Without such inspiration, who knows if I would have discovered my own fire? Perhaps, one day, I will write a true poem to you. No one would ever believe a Matsu would write love poetry, so my secrets should be safe with me."

She reaches her hand up to his, clutching it tightly. "You are welcome Akil-kun. And thank you." She releases his hand. "Now go. Before I change my mind and go challenge your pretty Crane love to a duel for your hand. "

[Shinjo Akil]

He had no more words for her. Not now. He took a breath, bowed to her, with the respect due an equal, and offered her one last smile. "Until next time, then. Sayonara, Kogo-chan." He'd wait for her to say her goodbye, then take his leave.

[Matsu Kogo]

She bows in return to him, smiling wryly remembering the last time they had parted. "Sayonara, Akil-kun. When next we meet, I hope it is happier."
