A Bleating Tune (D2 - LM)

[Kitsune Takeo]

Takeo laughed loudly at that.

"Haha, nothing quite so banal, I am afraid," he replied, smiling sheepishly, "I am quite taken with Otaku Kitakuhime-sama after my first meeting with her. And if I am being honest, as all samurai should, I think the marriage would serve my clan well. The Fox and the Unicorn share common ancestors and this miai is a wonderful opportunity for us to cleave closer together. A marriage between the Kitsune heir and the Otaku heir could do much in that respect."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa smiled brightly at those words. "I was quite taken by Otaku-sama as well from our tea and talk together. She's promised me a horse ride tomorrow in return for my ceremony for her. I believe you couldn't do better Kitsune-sama."

[Kitsune Takeo]

"I tend to agree with that assessment, though the difficulty will be in wooing her I suppose. I am unsure of the best way to approach Otaku-sama in this respect," he confessed.

[Tonbo Misa]

The Tonbo smirked a bit. "I fear I'll be no help. I believe I would like to help Togashi Udo-san with wooing her. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to the results either way."

[Kitsune Takeo]

Takeo nodded in understanding but his face grew somewhat more serious.

"A sentiment I can understand certainly and I respect your obligation to your clan. I wonder if I might impress upon you for something else in that instance - something that I feel we may be able to use your help with. At least to see how you may feel about what I propose..." he trailed off.

[Tonbo Misa]

Her head tilted curiously. "Nani? Ano... I would of course be willing to help how I can, though my family and clan do not have the best of resources, depending on what help Kitsune-san needs."

[Kitsune Takeo]

"Persuasion, perhaps. A word to the right friends," he began simply, "Friends that your clan has already cultivated and friends whom my clan has you to thank for returning to us."

His grip on his flute tightened somewhat reflexively.

"There may come a time when the Kitsune would wish to return to the Unicorn - to rejoin our cousins among the Children of Shinjo. I imagine that many people will have an opinion on that topic, should it ever come to fruition. I wondered if, perhaps, the Dragon might be willing to offer a voice in support of that reunion?"

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa's smile softened, but she nodded. "The Dragon would support whatever both sides wished. They aren't the sort of clan to argue against what people wish for themselves, what they believe is right. My own family might take a bit to get around to speaking out for such things, but in time..."

[Kitsune Takeo]

"The Tonbo have long been the voice of the Dragon, Tonbo-sama," he said gently, "I expect that role should be reinforced now. The support of a Great Clan in this endeavor would do much to ease the political road that we shall have to travel if it is to be realized."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa nodded softly. "I cannot speak for my family, not clan, but you have my support should such come to pass Kitsune-san."

[Kitsune Takeo]

Takeo bowed low, again, attempting to be as loud as possible to represent the movement.

"You have my thanks, Tonbo-sama. It is a delicate situation, but one that I believe will strengthen both clans. You have my gratitude for your support."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa just smiled. "Have you spoken to the Unicorn on the matter, or your own clan?"

[Kitsune Takeo]

"My aunt, certainly," he responded quickly, "She has not decided one way or the other yet, but she knows my feelings are supportive and she sent me here knowing I would advocate as such. The Unicorn I have spoken with so far seem generally supportive. I am certain more conversations will be necessary, but I think they are in line with my opinion... So far at least. "

[Tonbo Misa]

"It is certainly important to have the people's support in such great changes, Kitsune-san shows compassion making certain. The matter would be up to the respective champions though of course. I will wish your luck with them both." Misa smiled warmly.
