With a sigh, he rubbed at this eyes. He didn't think he was that tired, but he did seem to be making a lot of mistakes.

"It... wasn't right before?"

There was a lot of sighing going on. One might almost presume the good doctor wasn't feeling too well himself.

"Hai, I'd missed the splints. Stupid mistake."

Kneading his temple with one hand, he inquired, "Do you feel less pressure in the back? More comfortable sitting straight?"

[Yuzuki]

"Uh... yes? There's less pain that is, I mean."

She adjusted her body one way, then another, as if to test the claim.

[Soshi Taira]

"Good."

With a nod, he began to pack his supplies again.

"So how are you finding things, now that you are safely in one piece?"

[Yuzuki]

"Oh, I'm starting to..."

"...uh, that is. I think I did well on the horseriding thing today!"

Her enthusiasm likely contrasted with the fact she was telling her doctor she just engaged in strenuous and potentially dangerous activity despite obviously still being injured.

Taira, for his part, just smiled wearily. "I'm glad to hear that. I wish I could say the same."

[Yuzuki]

Well, at least she didn't get scolded. Although she hadn't actually expected scolding anyhow, because she hadn't considered the possibility.

"Well, obviously the event favored the Unicorn, and not us."

[Soshi Taira]

"Well, yes, but some of the samurai here did quite well. I suppose I just didn't get the balance of the weapon right."

[Yuzuki]

"Fate is fickle. Sometimes it is not on our side."

[Soshi Taira]

"Pfft, or rarely is."

Taira laughed.

"That is overly skeptical of me, but I am a bit... mistrustful of fate."

[Yuzuki]

"Do you have reason to suspect it is more than just a simple run of bad luck?"

[Soshi Taira]

"I don't know, does a run of bad luck last your entire life?"

He shrugged. "If so, then by all means."
