Seeking (D6, Late Afternoon, Suitechi's Yurt, Closed)

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Gain?!... Hmm... The Unicorn are indeed an interesting lot. I am still understanding them."

[Asako Hirase]

"You must know that there are already those that would see them forever diminished for their time away and the bloodlines the blended in to stay hale. The rumors today, and a few other days, indicate at least one person speaking out against them. They are going to need at least as many speaking strongly for them. That is one of the things that I will have to master."

The right corner of Hirase's mouth quirked.

"I expect you know of this craft through training, even if you don't use it often."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Another sip of tea and nibble of the rice cracker before he spoke. He was calm considering that there were already some rumors about him and Liu Fei.

"Rumors. The news that travels and brings nothing but trouble. You are right. I do know the craft and I do know how to combat it. Your method is combating the fiction with facts correct?"

[Asako Hirase]

"It is the Asako way." Hirase nodded. "But there is a saying about closing doors after the theft has already left. I am, now, less concerned about halting what has begun. I am somewhat more interested in possibly being the one to begin things. The right way. For my reasons."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Admirable. The thing is, and please understand Asako-sama, I mean no ill-will when I speak this. To many, facts are just...boring. It is nothing to really get a lot of people interested. However the facts need to be interesting..." an idea formed in Suteichi's head.

"And your facts need to be promoted."

[Asako Hirase]

"Oh, I know that they can be." A rueful smile rose and was swiftly hidden behind a tea cup. "It all comes down to the way they are presented. I had many a sensei in my time who sucked all the life out of their subject, leaving what could have been wonderful historical tales as dry as dust."

After a sip of tea was savored, the other man raised a brow.

"You have a notion?"

Suteichi enjoyed another sip in kind.

"I may have a notion after all. People do not need to hear fear. They need to hear opportunity. Look at us. We are among the first to encounter the returning Unicorn. Skepticism is going to happen the people need to be sold on that the skepticism is wrong on all levels.... Well...there is the Moto. but I digress."

[Asako Hirase]

"The Moto will have the hardest time, yes, but they have their virtues." He thought of the music that this man had arranged. "You know of their artistry already, I am certain. That passion surrounds all they do. They are fiercely loyal once befriended. And they love their Kami." Which, to Hirase, was more than enough to define a samurai. "But, yes. I am well aware I am the first scholar of the Phoenix to indwell with the Unicorn for any amount of time. It is a much vaster responsibility than I think most realize."

He took another sip.

"Especially as the Lion sent to Ikoma. My history will be the first, and uncontested by the Empire's primary custodians."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"When would you like to complete this project you are working on?"

[Asako Hirase]

"The history?" He thought of that. "That's a life's work. I'm going to record the Orochi encounter well before then, however. I intend to leave a copy of it with Khulun, seeing as she is the closest friend that the lost Otaku had here. The business with the pro-activity, however...that needs to be sooner rather than later. My own prospects are grim, but I have friends I can act for. "

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Hmmm... Very noble of you, Asako-sama. Your whole idea is noble. There is some concern about the return of the Ki-Rin, Unicorn. Excuse me. I do understand that history is a life work. Let me just say to you openly, I thank you for not being so pretentious in wanting to...publicly spout your historical knowledge for sake of vanity...unlike...well, you understand." There was a bit of a smirk as he sipped his tea.

[Asako Hirase]

"Unlike many of my Cousins?" Hirase smirked. "I have the usual Asako wordiness, I am told, and the obsession with scrolls, but so far I have not felt any urges to proclaim myself the smartest person in the room." Candiidly, he added, "Probably because I'm posted among the Isawa. They say seeing a dark mirror helps you know what to avoid and, well...tensai."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

A light chuckle.

"I will aide you with whatever you need Historian. Well I can aide you within good reason of course. Long as I can get some of those apples." he jested.

[Asako Hirase]

"You've only to choose red or green." Hirase nodded, sipping his tea. "By the by...are there any favorites among your male kin that I should be aware of? Other than the ones already observed, I mean. I'd prefer to avoid stepping on toes."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi chuckled slightly again.

"We are the Clan of Shiba's twin Asako-sama. Watch all of us." He waved a dismissive hand. "Well, I would probably say that the Shinjo sisters are a favorite and one of the Otaku. She performed with me and others at the music event last night."
