Hey, is it me you're looking for [D5, LM, Yuzuki's Yurt]

[Yuzuki]

Laying on a bed inside a yurt, was a samurai with rather grievous injuries; still asleep, or perhaps unconscious. It was hard to tell. A few peasants were, perhaps, keeping watch over the Mantis who had fought an Orochi and lived.

The Water Dragon? That's.. preposterous. That wouldn't just..

Despite the absurdity, the rumors were awfully hard to ignore, and finally a press for information lead one of the servants to bring the Fairuz toward someone who had supposedly been there and survived the attack.. and very likely needed assistance.

"...Mantis-san? It's Fairuz Kaiya," he called from outside.

He wasn't sure what to expect...

[Yuzuki]

"Yes? Come in."

The voice was distant, weak. Honestly it was barely more than a whisper. Which wouldn't have been hard to understand once one took a look at her. She'd received some basic care in the form of bandages and what not, but it was obvious she'd gone through jigoku. Were those... giant claw and bite marks? Yes, yes they were.

Well, okay, that does look rather bad.
Wounds too large to just be one of the Matsu's pets..

Under normal circumstances he probably should have been a little more polite, but it took little more than a casual glance at those wounds to figure that the Mantis probably wouldn't mind if he just asked the kami for aid before trying to have any sort of conversation.

"Pardon.. Mantis-san? What inflicted such wounds? Strange things are being said throughout the village."

[Yuzuki]

The kami provided some healing, but she still seemed very bad off, though after a few moments she seemed at least slightly more mobile as she tried sitting up. Yuzuki couldn't figure out what that mon was, so she made the leap of assuming it was one of the Unicorn.

"An Orochi," she said, "Unicorn-sama. It came down in the storm and attacked."

(that puts her in Crippled)

Did she hit her head as well? Poor girl must be delirious.

He still had the scroll out as he slowly shook his head.. in response to being called Unicorn, or..?

"Orochi..? Well, at least that sounds more plausible than the notion that the Water Dragon itself descended to attack the miai. Though, I'm not Unicorn, Mantis-san. It's Kaiya, of the Fairuz. Shall I ask the kami for further assistance?"

It was sort of a step toward politeness, though he didn't bother waiting for a response before resting his hand on her forearm once more and repeating the prayer..

"My apologies," she corrected herself, "Fairuz-sama. I would be most grateful."

Bit by bit, Kaiya's assistence and that of the Kami was bringing Yuzuki back to some semblance of living.

"It was dark, and difficult to see with the storm." She was speaking more easily now. "And most people haven't seen or even heard of one before. I can see why they'd think it was the water dragon."

(that puts me one wound into Hurt)

Kaiya put the scroll away now, having spent the most useful aspect of his ability and figuring that throwing up on the wounded was probably not going to help in the vast majority of cases.

...not that he particularly wanted to try to think of a case where that would help.

"So.. what happened, exactly?"

[Yuzuki]

"It. It's a bit hazy."

She tried to remember, to get things clear; and describe the tale in a way that wouldn't be a rambling mess.

"I was called out there. During the storm. And then it just came down, and charged us. I tried to reason with it, but it bit and almost swalloed me. I thought I was done for then and there, but it spit me back out. There were others there. Two Unicorn, a Togashi, and a Crab. Together we fought back. But I passed out at some point after it hit me again."

He silently listened, nodding.

A rather sanitized description for those wounds.. but that is for the best.

"An inspirational move.. and seeing that Mantis-san survived such wounds and the village still stands, one estimates it to have been a successful one at that. Such deeds will surely be remembered."

[Yuzuki]

"I just wish I knew what had caused it to attack. Or what it was doing here in the first place. It seems so out of place."

[Fairuz Kaiya]

"As do I. Did this creature say anything before or during the attack?"

[Yuzuki]

"No. I tried talking to it, but it said nothing. Just attacked. Maybe it said something after I passed out, but not that I know of."
