Parlay With Darkness (Day 6, Late Night)

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"And what does that leverage get you when you are refused, do not have your armies and have to contend with this Lying Darkness when it is in command of Shinjo-kami? It gets you nowhere. You infuriate one enemy, increasing their strength and will to defeat you and allow another to become stronger because you withhold your information. Rather than allowing us to be distracted in the effort to go to Shinjo-kami's aid. You reach too far, ask too much, and will end up paying dearly for your arrogance," he shakes his head.

[Iuchi Saksaha]

"Our Lady always placed humankind and Empire above herself. We will not betray the ideals and the Honor that make us her children." Saksaha tosses her head, making her beads rattle.

"Our khans will hear of your words, but do not expect us to barter for your lies."

She nods firmly at Samai, agreeing with the Ide woman's words, though not all the Unicorn probably understood them.

"Come, Shinjo-san. Let us not dicker with this demon like peasants at the market."

With her knees, she signals her mare to make ready to ride.

[Kiyoshi]

Kiyoshi smirks as he looks back to Monkhbaatar. "There is one significant difference between you and I, Shinjo-san. When the final battle with the darkness comes, I intend to be standing at the side of a Kami. I am being courteous in offering you the same advantage."

"Thank you for the explanation Kiyoshi-sama. We will take your leave then, and will convey the messages in the proper way to our superiors."

Kiyoshi nods at Samai's words. "Do not take too long to make your choice. Unlike you and I, the darkness never sleeps."

[Ide Samai]

Another small shiver escaped. "Well then... thank you Kiyoshi-sama. Take care." Don't let the wards bite you.

"Minnasan, let's be off then. We have a long day tomorrow."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

Monkhbaatar moved right next to Khulun. "They are right, let's head out Khulun."

[Moto Khulun]

"I have questions, Onyx Champion," she says ignoring the retreat.

[Ide Samai]

"Moto-san, the time for questions has passed." Samai was firm. "It is late, and it is impolite to keep the Champion from his journey."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

When she speaks, Monkhbaatar turns Meushi to look on Kiyoshi once more by Khulun's side. He'd given his words and advice, but he was not about to leave Khulun to face him alone in this meeting.

[Kiyoshi]

"I have questions, Onyx Champion," she says ignoring the retreat.

"I doubt that your companions will appreciate continued discussion." He casts a glance toward Iuchi Saksaha. "If you wish to risk drawing their ire, you may ask your questions."

[Ide Samai]

An annoyed sigh escaped behind her fain, Samai turned around. "Minnasan, please return to your yurts. I will escort Moto-san back when we're done." She cast a pointed look at Khulun, but then waved her fan at the others to leave.

[Iuchi Saksaha]

"Let us do as Ide-sama says and go now, cousin." Saksaha leaves a little extra stress on the honorific.

[Yuzuki]

"Mortals have prevailed against the greatest of odds before," she said as talk of standing alongside a kami came, finally breaking her silence, if only for a moment.

Then people started talking of heading out, much to the liking of Yuzuki. Much against her liking, the heading out turned out to be delayed.

[Moto Khulun]

"How did this relic of Shinjo come to you?" She asks ignoring the posturing.

[Ide Samai]

"Iuchi-san, Shinjo-san, would you escort our guest? The night is dark" and full of terrors "It is simply Courtesy and Duty." She put some stress on Duty. Hopefully they'll shut up and leave already.

[Kiyoshi]

"How did this relic of Shinjo come to you?" She asks ignoring the posturing.

"You remember my birds, yes?" He pantomimes pinching his fingers together and pulling. "One of them plucked the trinket from Shinjo's obi and swallowed it. The darkness pays little attention to animals."
