She blushes. "Gomen Akil-kun. I....uhhhh.....you are correct that your inspiration is occasionally....complex?" She sighs. "Yes, you should probably go. But I thank you for coming today. I would have been saddened to go through the world, thinking the way I had thought of you after our misunderstanding."

[Shinjo Akil]

"I am glad that we have cleared up those misunderstandings as well," he nodded, turning again to the flap. "And... Thank you. For letting me explain myself."

[Matsu Kogo]

She still looks a tinch bashful, scratching the back of her head. "Thank you, for not thinking I am an honorless wretch, for giving you my word and then breaking it in the next moment." She bows to him. "I will do better by you, Akil-kun. "

[Shinjo Akil]

He turns once more and bows. Respectfully, this time, as he would an equal. "Were this easy on me, you never would have had to give that word at all. I will see you with my answer in two days."

[Matsu Kogo]

She bows back to him. "I will hold myself to it nonetheless. I look forward to hearing from you." She opens the flap fully and walks him out.

[Shinjo Akil]

Akil steps out, nodding to her with a wordless smile before stepping out, heading back towards his yurt to prepare for the evening. Only one word entered his thoughts as he headed back.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo walked back into her tent and began banging her head against the central pole, quietly whispering, "Baka. Baka. Could you be more of an idiot? Do you need to show him you have no honor or self control? Baka." She leans with her against the tent pole, unsure of what to do. She has been dishonorable, broken her word to a man she cares deeply for. She sees the idol of Benten, set up near the door. She lights incense and begins to pray, asking for her ancestress's guidance and Benten's as well, through this morasse she has drawn herself into.

I will do better. I will be better. I will not stoop to self pity or self destruction. I will be worthy. I will become worthy of another's love. Matsu-dono, show me how to be a better lionness of your clan! She thinks quietly to herself. Perhaps it is I, who actually acts like a lionness in heat. Stupid and unthinking.

She continues to pray and castigate herself until it is time for the poetry competition.
