[D5 EE] Final Rites (OPEN)

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue saw that there was nothing more to be said on her part. The others had spoken her beliefs. To do so again would be to parrot them.

She gently eased Hikazume forward and held her tetsubo to the sky. "All our foes will perish under the might of our Clan! Our mighty hooves! Our indomitable spirit! We may die but we will never yield!" She knew most would not understand her but that was not the point. It was a war cry, followed by a howl on her part. With her horse, it almost seemed like the two were ready to charge off to fight some unknown enemy.

After her bellowing, she lowered her mace and looked to the body of Chi-Pu. "May our Lady Shinjo guide you."

[Shimizu Ryori]

At the howl Kyra rose and roared echoeing the cry.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki stood quietly to one side of the funeral procession. Though she had never really met the woman that had died so nobly, her cousin had. So she stood to the side, watching with a small frown on her face in support of Hirase as he would mourn a woman that had, by most rights, seemed prepared to marry him.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo was towards the back of the funeral, a white band around her forehead. Her eyes are red and her face is bleak. She speaks to no one as she listens to the speeches, her face white. She does not speak when the time comes from eulogies, but when she hears Kyra's roar, the tears begin to fall on her face, silently. Noburu responds to her pride mate's roar and Kogo twists her hand into the fur on her back, tears continuing to fall.

[Usagi Tsukimi]

Tsukimi stood in silence. She didn't know Chi-Pu, but she felt the grief that rippled through the miai, and it was only right to be here, to mourn. She listened, and she paid her respects to the fallen.

[Ichiro Daisuke]

This funeral was decidedly different from those Daisuke was used to. Well, except the the part with the speeches. There were tears, and war cries, and roaring cat,s and honestly it left him a bit confused. In Badger lands things were much more somber, perhaps it was because with the wall they guarded death was much more expected?

Nevertheless he did his best to honor Chi-pu, standing tall, his on firmly in place. He'd drink a cup for her later.

[Matsu Yurio]

Another solemn Lion was there, not really understanding anything and not really sure what had happened to cause the Otaku's death, but . . . as his single memory of her was her turning green and nearly barfing on him, it was for the best that he kept quiet and honoured her passing in silence.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

The lion's roars were joined by the a loud whinny of a horse, as Meushi's reared up at her rider's command. Monkhbaatar had nothing to add other than his support, honoring the fallen Otaku by looking on stoically.

[Matsu Kogo]

After Noburu finishes her roar, she and Kogo follow the echo of the sound of Kyra to where Shimizu-san and Kyra stand. She moves to stand next to him, knowing he had known Otaku Chi-Pu for longer than she had. She gives a quick pat on the head to Kyra and whispers, "Good girl."

[Fairuz Kaiya]

The Fairuz was similarly toward the back, having nothing of his own to say on this. His conversations with Chi-Pu over the past few days were not necessarily on the most pleasant of terms, but she had been involved with both battles against strange creatures here now and that was deserving of a great deal of respect.

Plus, he was interested in seeing just how the Unicorn did these things.

[Otaku Imane]

Otaku Imane was present astride her mighty warhorse with its rainbow-painted mane. Her armour was polished and she had spent a considerable amount of time on her appearance. It seemed appropriate given how much dedication Chi-Pu used to put into her make-up. Split ends had been removed, the smell of horse taken away with perfume.

She watched the various presentations with cool detachment, taking her place close to Kitakuhime. Her great grandmother had led the Otaku once, and although she was further removed from the current daimyo than her sister, she was cut from the same cloth. Poise, precision, honour. This was the way of the Otaku.

[Otomo Tenzo]

Though he did not have opportunity to meet the Unicorn woman, it was a combination of station, Imperial representation, and respect for his hosts that brought out Otomo Tenzo to the announcement of Otaku Chi-Pu's final rites. Like some of the others also in attendance, he stayed more toward the back of those gathered around so that those of the Unicorn might more easily and readily be at the front. The Imperial, though stone-faced throughout the war cries, the eulogies, and the other things happening throughout the Unicorn rites, on occasion he bowed his head low out of respect for the fallen.

She whispers back to him. I am unsure. Perhaps he wished to not infringe on Unicorn custom.

[Bayushi Hotaru]

Hotaru was also present at the solemn occasion to offer her sympathies to the Unicorn and pay her respect. She bowed appropriately to those who knew her or glanced her way. Nobody ever goes to an event expecting a funeral but death was part of life, appropriately enough. She didn't know the Unicorn in question very well or had much to say, but she hoped that her presence here would provide support for the Unicorn. Her curious gaze did manage to pick out Dong-Ha from among the attendees easily enough, as he seemed to be in charge of the proceedings. She did mentally take notes of their custom as she watched.
