[D5 EA] Hoising around

[Ide Samai]

Samai was gently patting Scirocco. It have been a few days since she visited him, the events of the other night did cause a stir for the poor creature.

"Now now, the dragon is gone. It's a lake now." Okay, that was probably inane, but the tone of her voice was more important than what she was saying.

Daisuke didn't know about any lakes, but then he hadn't been in the Western fields since last night either. Instead he was at the Horsemanship fields, he had chatted with a young Shinjo woman about lessons but things had yet to work out so he came instead to observe. Maybe he would learn a thing or two that way?

Looking over the fields he spotted a form in purple seemingly tending to her horse and after a bit of hesitation he made his way over. "Good afternoon Ide-sama." He said with a bow, recognizing her mon as the same one Ide dabo wore.

Samai smiled back at the samurai approaching her, while Scirocco eyed the approaching intruder suspiciously... if this will lead to a lack of care, blood will flow.

She seemed confused for a moment. "Good afternoon... Daidoji-san?" she eyed her mons, trying to figure out the man.

Daisuke was no master of horses, so he missed the suspicous glance aimed his way, instead returning the smile the woman offered with one of his own. "It's Ichiro-san actually." He offered helpfully.

"Though I did attend school in crane lands, my clan is the Badger."

"Ah, hai, the Badger I understand." Sort of. They were a... Lesser Clan? No, Minor Clan! Yeah, that's it.

"Crane school must have been interesting. Have you had rice today Ichiro-san?"

He wasn't quite sure she did, but he let it pass. She was fairly seem to the Empire after all, and well his clan wasn't terribly well known.

"It was, the lands of the Crane are far different from where I was born." He nodded. "And yes I have, I broke my fast shortly after dawn. I hope you can say the same?"

"Hai, I did. I find rice quite nice... it is certainly a change from our previous feasts." She smiled as she said, of course. She was almost always smiling. Thankfully, it came naturally to her. "I am sure... can I ask about your lands? What kind are they?"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

'I'd imagine." He replied, reminded of the food present at the feast. "We honestly don't eat much of it in Badger lands either, The fields we have aren't good for growing it."

"They are mountains and foot hills with a few valleys, to the north of here in the pass of woe. They aren't the easiest place to live in but we make do."

[Ide Samai]

"Ah, I recall. I believe that is where we left Rokugan." She continued caressing her horse. Your people sound hardy, I am sure they are brave samurai." She tilted her head in curiosity."What do you eat then, Ichiro-san?"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Aye, we were tasked with watching the paths in the years after your clan departed from it." He affirmed with a nod. "As for food, there is a lot of soybeans, and buck wheat, mushrooms and other vegetables as well. Whatever we can grow really."

[Ide Samai]

"Growing food is something we will have to get used to... truthfully, I don't think we have much experience with it." She smiled at him. "But it sounds like you do. How do yo find the plains after the mountains? It must be strange, I assume?" Her petting of the horse slowed down, which was apparently something the horse didn't really like.

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Not particularly." He admitted glancing towards their surroundings. "But then I spent the most of seven years in crane lands, which is forest, plains and coastline for the most part. I'm rather used to different sorts of terrain."

"Still I do miss the mountains, if that's what you are asking. They are home to me after all."

[Ide Samai]

"Ah, you have seen a great many of the Empire then Ichiro-san. Crane lands and Badger lands, both sound interesting.. I did not spend much time in any mountains so far, but perhaps one day I could pay a visit."

Se smiled at the thought. She caressed the horse. "Have you ridden horses before Ichiro-san?"

"You'd be welcomed." He offered at her mention of a visit, she might get a few stares but she'd be welcomed.

"No." He admitted after a moment, Taking a look at the large beast. "Not so much use for them in the mountains, and my scout training has been on foot."
