"It will take more than three days to figure out the children of Shinjo."

He paused and then went for it.

"If they are all truly that. The Moto are gaijin. Truly gaijin. Not founded by anyone who accompanied Shinjo. Adopted long after Shinjo left the Empire. I am not sure how to take that."

There was always that niggling reminder that one of the Moto might pick him though, and there were other preferences to be considered.
