D4 EA The Wounds They Yurts a Lot!

[Shiba Kaizen]

Kaizen was glad of his performance, not so happy to be scratched and bitten by wriggling hordes of rodents. He made it back to his yurt and started cleaning his wounds with a bucket of water and a rag. He vocalized his frustrations as some of the wounds were deep and bleeding. He applied pressure where he could, but fell short on rags and hands.

[Isawa Nonin]

Nonin, having previously bound his foot, looked in. "Shiba-san! I heard that you had been savaged by the weasels. Is that true?"

Seeing the wounds, he hurried in, opening his medical kit.

[Shiba Kaizen]

"Hai it is harder to guard oneself while carrying eggs. Also those weasels are sneaky, there was no warning of their approach." The bushi shook his head, "Isawa-san, so long as the bleeding stops I should mend well enough."

[Isawa Nonin]

Nonin kneels down and sets about cleaning, binding and sewing up the nasty wounds. "They were indeed vicious, one bit my foot quite severely."

"Did you find many eggs?" he asks, partly to distract the wounded man.

[Shiba Kaizen]

"Thirteen, the big surprise is the beasts did not steal or break any thank the Fortunes. How about you Isawa-san?" The shugenja was quite the physician going about his work efficiently.

[Isawa Nonin]

"I had ten, but one of them broke, which seemed some sort of comment on the human condition to me," he said, efficiently tying and sewing up wounds. "Perhaps I will actually earn a point this time. I have been trying hard in all the events but so far with no success."

[Shiba Kaizen]

Breathing easier and no longer bleeding Kaizen said, "Considering that this test was not what one would normally consider priestly I think that may impress our hosts even more than my own total. These exercises are certainly different than the Topaz Championship, though just as varied in some ways. I wonder if there will be something more suited to a priest's training Isawa-san?"

[Isawa Nonin]

"I can only hope,"says Nonin. "I do wish to show the best of our Clan for the Unicorn."

[Shiba Kaizen]

"It is said that the Kami Shinjo favored her brother Shiba no Kami and that Iuchi was a disciple of Isawa. I think we should strive to rekindle such friendships for the benefit of all." Kaizen rather liked the idea as though it was putting the universe aright again.

[Isawa Nonin]

"I hope that you are right, Shiba-san," nods Nonin. "I would like the Unicorn to be a force for peace and harmony in the Empire."

[Shiba Kaizen]

"They seem... rambunctious." Is that really the right word... "Perhaps they will settle down a bit and their love of being sincere will win out. Who knows what role they will take on since their days of roaming the outside are at an end?" So long as they do not act as the hands slapping each other silly...

[Isawa Nonin]

"They bring a new perspective which is valuable," says Nonin. "The Empire too often turns only inward and does not question its ways."

[Shiba Kaizen]

Kaizen had never really considered that. Well the mission of the Ki Rin made sense as scouting always did. The idea that perspective of this nature would be helpful was not something he had thought on. "That makes a certain kind of sense. They have spent centuries learning of the outside and it has changed them. Now they bring it to all of us as a gift of lessons." Thinking not too far back to his dojo days he added, "A gift not everyone will enjoy learning from I think..." That Matsu and Moto, will they recover from their drink and despise each other? The Lion already covet their preeminence of military arms. What happens if that is threatened?

[Isawa Nonin]

"Very true, so we must do our best to help smooth the way by educating the Unicorn about the Empire and our own people must be taught about the Unicorn and their ways," he smiles. "We must act as ambassador for the ambassadors."
