(D2, EA, Misa's Room) Flying up to the Mountains

[Kakita Nanami]

"Hai," the Kakita spoke with a nod. "My parents originally wished me to be an artisan but it was discovered I had the gifts of the kami. I must admit I am unsure of the details but... it was arranged for me to attend the school of the Agasha in order to help fulfill an obligation between the Crane and Dragon."

[Tonbo Misa]

Misa smiled brightly. "Regardless of the exact circumstances, I'm glad you had a chance to travel and learn something new and different. I must confess, I don't know much about what sets the Agasha apart from the Asahina or any other family of shugenja."

[Kakita Nanami]

The Kakita's frown was audible in her voice, "The Asahina are... they have a tendency to elect to follow the non-aggressive path at every opportunity. The serve the Crane dutifully and it would have been a great honour to attend their school but..."

Nanami straightened herself up as she sat, pride coming into her voice, "The Agasha methodology of teaching naturally spoke to me. The training methods of the Agasha school favour the fire kami over the others and teach us to channel one of the elements through another. I am also told that the fire kami, in particular, seem to favour me..."

"Tonbo-sama may be able to imagine how that has made my training under the Agasha simpler."

[Tonbo Misa]

"Like a fish in water or a bird in the sky. I don't know the kami, but I know something in its element will always thrive more."

She smiled warmly a moment before it faded a little. "I pray my family finds that for itself as well."

[Kakita Nanami]

"I as well, Tonbo-sama, wish that your family finds its place." She frowned a little, "I have heard of the unpleasantness that befell your family and am glad that the Dragon extended their hand to offer aid."

[Tonbo Misa]

"My cousin extended her hand first, because we had little choice. I'm grateful for them, as I've always been a part of them, but my family will take a long time to grow used to the hospitality." Misa gave a bow of her head. "I know that our two clans will overcome the recent differences that have come between us, and I look forward to my family finding splice in the support of the Kakita, and the other families of the Crane."

[Kakita Nanami]

"I am but a lowly shugenja, Tonbo-sama," the Crane spoke, bowing, "but if there is anything at all I can do to that end, you have only to ask. I have much to repay to the Agasha and the Dragon in general for taking me into their tutelage and care during such a time."

[Tonbo Misa]

"We all have our roles to play Kakita-san." Her smile warmed once more. "I can give my own words to the Dragon for moving on, and you can act as a connection within the Kakita. It would be better if I were Mirumoto I suppose, but it's a start, hai?"

[Kakita Nanami]

"Mmm." The Crane nodded, perhaps not even consciously realizing the other couldn't see it. "It is something I was taught when I was young, when I first began to learn the ways of the artisan... sometimes one does not have the perfect materials at hand, but with the right care and effort they can still be shaped into a great work."

[Tonbo Misa]

It was just a small note, but Misa perked up. "An artisan as well Kakita-san? Did you end up with enough time to learn anything worth sharing?"

[Kakita Nanami]

"Very little of much use, unfortunately, Tonbo-sama," the Kakita says with a slight frown. "I was taught some basic aspects of forging both weapons and armor by my father but little more. I would never trust my skills to produce anything truly usable."

[Tonbo Misa]

"Still, it's something." Misa smiled brightly. "If Kakita-san ever decides to make a blade, no matter how simple, I would be honored to feel it. Art always shows the soul of its maker after all. Is one of your parents an artisan then, that you learned a bit?"
