Day 2 [Late Evening] Tea After Dark (Mizuki's Room)

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"I almost look forward to seeing just how your mother might attempt to convince me to change from my... improper lady-like ways."

"I do not know if you have realized this," she said with that tone reserved for things that were obvious, "but I can be a hard one to impress. If I am ready to accept you, I doubt a single member of my family would be able to disagree."

"But, that is a less insightful answer than you want Suteichi-san. My father is more of a scholar, but also represents our Family when it comes time to and is requested of him. I am sure he would find the merit in your work far more easily than I have. My Mother, well, she was a lot like me.. or, I always saw a lot of her in me when I was growing up. She would have liked you, eventually, but it would not have been so simple," she said, glancing toward the door as a reference to the moment that just passed.

"Yue.. I believe she is ready to accept you, and if she is not after I talk with her she will be ready to. However it is best to find out for yourself with her. Since we are all here for the next while, I would think."


Following that she took a sip of her tea, allowing for a little pause before asking anything else. Giving him a moment to respond if he would like.

"Well, that is something I can appreciate. Tell me something, are you marrying for duty's sake or for love?"

Suteichi hated asking this but the answer to this was very vital.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"Hai. I understand. Sometimes it is hard. I know I have had to hold myself back." Mizuki gives a friendly smile. "You didn't tell me what you think?"

"I am pleased with the kimono. I can now be sure that I will not look bad in Scorpion colors." She frowned for a brief moment, disappointed with her own Rokugani. She then gave Mizuki a deep bow. "Arigatou gozaimasu. I am honored to wear it."

She started to twirl a bit of her hair, blinked, and then turned away. "Perhaps we should return to them."

[Shinjo Liu Fei]

"Duty, Suteichi-san. I am a Samurai and it is what is expected of me. A good husband and wife only need to work well together for the marriage to be successful, not necessarily like one another. Of course, it isn't a problem if they end up finding love anyway," she answered, though the way she said the word it seemed as if she was skeptical of it in some way.

She sipped at the tea, looked into the cup and then back to Suteichi, "Were you hoping to find a love to marry for in such a short time as this Miai Suteichi-san? Or, for Duty's sake, find a partner you could work well with?"

[Yogo Mizuki]

"It is the least I could do after my clumsiness."

Mizuki nods. "Of course, we have been here a while. Hopefully things have improved." Mizuki heads back to the table, noticing Suteichi also had his mask off. Well, things got interesting. Mizuki ponders for a second. These Unicorn - or maybe it's these sisters - are good at getting our masks off.

She bows to Suteichi and Fei. "Forgive us for taking so long."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Duty, Suteichi-san. I am a Samurai and it is what is expected of me. A good husband and wife only need to work well together for the marriage to be successful, not necessarily like one another. Of course, it isn't a problem if they end up finding love anyway," she answered, though the way she said the word it seemed as if she was skeptical of it in some way.

She sipped at the tea, looked into the cup and then back to Suteichi, "Were you hoping to find a love to marry for in such a short time as this Miai Suteichi-san? Or, for Duty's sake, find a partner you could work well with?"

"Duty Liu Fei-san. Duty above all else. Love...complicates things.Think about it. What if you love something that cannot love you back?"

It makes me happy to hear you say that Liu Fei-san. I would not want you to be hurt. That would hurt me more.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue came back to the table alongside the Yogo in the Scorpion-colored kimono. She was mostly interested in seeing her own sister's reaction but she was curious about Suteichi's as well. The absence of his mask did not register with her as significant.

She followed up with bows of her own after witnessing Mizuki do the same. "Gomennasai," she parroted.

[Shinjo Liu Fei]

"Or if you lose-" she was stopped near the end of her question, well statement truthfully. One that the unspoken answer would have shown how they reached an agreement.

What had stopped her was hearing the other two return to finding a much more relaxed Fei. Finding her sister in Scorpion colors didn't really register quite as deeply as Yue might have wanted, after all she had half expected it when they left for Mizuki to share one of her outfits. Although, it did surprise her that they had managed to make it fit given her sisters height.

"Thank you for seeing to my younger sister Yogo-sama," she said, offering her own bow.

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki bows. "Of course, it is the least I could do after my clumsiness." She takes her seat. She starts to scrutinize the pair without making it too obvious to see what she missed.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Scorpion colors look good on your sister Liu Fei-san. Perhaps we can find you a kimono as well." he joked. "Well, this evening has certainly made a turn. I almost hate for it to end."

[Shinjo Liu Fei]

Liu Fei's shoulders were more relaxed and she was sitting more casually though remained proper enough.

"Looks a bit stiff," she replied honestly, though in a way that attempted to touch on humor. "After a turn like that I think it is best to have some rest before night falls completely. There is always next time, when you wish it, Suteichi-san."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi smirked and stood up gesturing to the door and escorted the Shinjo sisters there. When Liu Yue was ahead of them Suteichi whispered into Liu Fei's ear.

"I wish that our next time be in the fields. You and me. Just us. The fourth night. I am sure you will make yourself present."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

The kimono's length was a bit too short, the fit a bit tight. The sleeves were manageable, though it may have looked like Yue was already married.

And in an instant, she was led to the door. "When shall I return your kimono?" she inquired, a bit flabbergasted.

[Shinjo Liu Fei]

Of course, the speed of which they were suddenly being ushered to the door could have been well... slower. Though her thoughts didn't remain on it for long, offering a softly vocalized, "Hmm," in acceptance of the terms he offered her in a whisper.

[Yogo Mizuki]

"You can bring it back tomorrow or the day after. I have enough clothes for now. I'll have yours washed and prepared for you."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"Arigatou gozaimasu! I will see it returned to you." She gave a deep bow to Mizuki and one to Suteichi. "Oh! Arigatou gozaimasu! You were both gracious hosts." She looked to the ceiling, wondering if she had forgotten anything else.
