Drinks on you (D3, EM, Yuzuki's Yurt)

[Yuzuki]

She gave a small smile. "Smart. I will of course mention your contribution to all who come. Could you accomodate thirty people or more in terms of supply?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Mmmm..." Tomonaga pursed his lips thoughtfully. "That depends on the guests. I can bring about ten bottles, fair sized ones. If all the guests were Crab, I'd say we'd be short. With the right mix, we might be ok. I'm not yet sure how much the Unicorn drink sake."

He glanced at Bataar. "What do you think, Moto-san? Did you try sake at the welcoming feast?"

[Moto Baatar]

"I hadn't tried sake yet," Baatar replied. "I'd be happy to try some, though. I hear it is a little like shochu, is that true?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Once we're there." Tomonaga grunted. "I've got a cup for both of you."

"But yeah, they're kinda similar. One is fermented, one is distilled. That makes them taste pretty different, even when they're both made from rice. But this one I've got is kinda... shochu-y, if that makes any sense. If you like shochu, you'll probably like our stuff." He said confidently.

[Moto Baatar]

"All right! That sounds great!" The promise of free drinks puts a little spring in the young Unicorn's steps, and the supplies for Yuzuki's feast are soon delivered to their proper place.

[Yuzuki]

"Uh," she looked between the two. The kid did look awfully young. Might not be able to handle it, she thought.

"Shochu is a bit heavier than Sake though."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"True." Tomonaga grunted as he set his box on top of another. With a little surface thus improvised, he produced two cups from his kimono, followed by a sake bottle. "Ours is on the strong side for sake, though. I mean, it is Crab sake. We've gotta serve it to other Crab, after all." He said as he poured a bit into each of the cups. "This particular sake is a bit more rough and flavorful; the Unicorn seem to prefer that."

He turned to look at the other two samurai. "Don't suppose either of you have a cup on you?" He always thought it was more polite to take a cup himself when presenting a product. More fun, too.

[Yuzuki]

She produced a cup, because what self-respecting samurai did not have their own cup.

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Hah, good!" Tomonaga grinned at the Mantis, a similar thought running through his head. Still, he did always carry an extra cup, just in case.

He filled her cup, handed one to Baatar, and took the last one himself. "Well then, shall we?" He lifts the cup as if in a toast, ready to drink when the others did as well.

[Moto Baatar]

"Thanks, Yasuki-san!" the young Unicorn said, accepting the cup of sake. "You're all right! Kampai!"

So saying, he raised the cup and took a big swig of sake from it.

[Yuzuki]

She sipped the cup, more interested in the taste than anything. Not that she was an expert in such things, of course.

"This strikes me as good quality, Yasuki-sama. I would be honored to share such drink with my guests."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga drank his more slowly as well. He knew the taste, of course, but who knew how many times he'd be sharing a drink like this today? Better to take it easy.

"Hey, that's great." He said, clearly pleased. "I'll bring the bottles by a bit before the dinner." His gaze grows a bit sharper on Yuzuki. "This was a good idea, Mantis-san. I'll bet our hosts will be pleased."

Speaking of... Tomonaga cast a glance over at Baatar, gauging the young man's reaction to the sake.

[Yuzuki]

"I hope so," she said.

Sure went to a bit of trouble, after all.

Noticing the glance, she too looked over to Baatar.

"How is it?"

[Moto Baatar]

"It's pretty good," Baatar allowed, wiping his mouth with his right sleeve. "Not quite as harsh as shochu or as chewy as kumis, but I could get used to this. So they drink this all the time in Crab lands?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Eh, positive enough. "Pretty much, yeah." Tomonaga said. "It's the central part of a good Crab party. And Crab tend to be a bit larger than the average Rokugani, so we need to drink more, too." Of course, even the smaller Crab often drank a lot... Tomonaga cleared his throat. "We trade with other Clans, too. You can do a lot of things to change sake in little ways, so it matches the tastes of who's going to be drinking it."

He smiled. "I had some kumis at the feast the other night. It was good. I'm hoping to bring some back for my family to try."
